In the last months there has been a lot of interest expressed on FR about aircraft carriers. I have found that there is a lot of interest all over the net.
So, I created a web site about all of the World's Aircraft Carriers. It will surprise you how many countries operate at least one...and also how many are building large-deck Amphibious Assault ships.
Of course, no one holds a candle at this time to America's capabilities in this regard.
Please enjoy, and let me know what you think. I hope it serves as a resource for naval enthusiasts everywhere. Just click on the banner below and take a look:

BTTT Thanks for that! I didn't even know there was going to be a carrier George HW Bush. (bookmarked)

Jeff, Many thanks for putting this site together. I had no idea that countries like Brazil and Spain had AC's in their navies. I've saved your site in my favorite places for future reference. Best Regards...T_J

I'm also interested in the use of carrier-like craft for staging marines and infantry...

Nope...I have their Charles De Gaulle listed right there with a lot of pics. It took them seven years from launch to get it commissioned, and another couple of years after that to get it working right...but they are operating it fairly effectively right now. Its the only other nuclear powered carrier in the world outside of the US.
It's been so difficult and costly that there next one is going back to conventional power.
BTW, the Brazilians bought the old Foch and operating a wing of A-4M's off of her. That there too...the Sao Paulo.

Yes. That will be the transformational carrier taking us to the CVN-21s. Pretty awesome stuff.

Not bad, not bad at all. You could please the air-dales on FR by adding the various airwing insignia(s) that are on the vessels though.

Click on the Large Deck Amphibios portion of the site...it's linked to the right of the header. All of the larg-deck, flattop-like amphibs are there.

No US amphibious assault ships?
Our copter carriers are bigger than some of these other aircraft carriers.
