Boy George ... robbed in flat |
|
|
Busted by male hooker By EMILY SMITH US Editor DRUG-bust star Boy George was arrested after calling cops when a male hooker tried to rob him, it was reported last night. The singer is said to have panicked when the rent boy demanded he hand over all his cash. By the time cops arrived the prostitute had scarpered but a frightened pal of the star is supposed to have blurted out that there was a lot more cocaine in the New York flat.
Boy George, 44, was then arrested after police seized up to 3.5 grammes of the drug.
Yesterday a police department source claimed: The prostitute demanded his money. George refused and said he was going to call police. The prostitute said, Go ahead and youll go to jail. So George freaked out because he was high, called the police, the prostitute left and George got arrested. The NYPD yesterday confirmed the star real name George ODowd called them after a man tried to rob him. But a spokesman said: I cant confirm this person was a prostitute its part of the investigation. George was released last Saturday after appearing in Manhattan Criminal Court and will return on December 19.
The Karma Chameleon star now a DJ and producer, has since returned to his home in London. Last night his manager Tony Gordon refused to comment. But he said: George is a lovely, good boy. |

The 'mainstream' media who deify homosexuality will avoid this one like the plague, I'll wager. This happened a week ago and made the front page of the New York Post and the near front page in the New York Daily News.

Eric Breindel. Wow, there's a blast from the past.
The papers have gotten boring. Too afraid to take chances. I blame the recent outbreak of sobriety among New York journalists. What we need is Jimmy Breslin, standing on Third Avenue at 3 a.m., tie undone, shirt tails out, howling drunkenly at the moon.

With all due respect, I don't believe many people consider the news that Boy George is a debauched perv a "revelation."

With all due respect, I don't believe many people consider the news that Boy George is a debauched perv a "revelation."I never claimed that his perversion was a revelation....everyone knew that he was a perv for decades. It's just that this detail about the male prostitute involved with the drug bust has just leaked out. It's newsworthy because it heightens the preexisting scandal of a celebrity figure.

This has already gotten more coverage than Barney Frank's relationship with a male prostitute, hasn't it?
To be honest, any news about Boy George is probably excessive. I'm not surprised that he is gay, a druggie, or buys prostitutes. I am only surprised that anyone cares.

This has already gotten more coverage than Barney Frank's relationship with a male prostitute, hasn't it?When this added tidbit of news pertaining to the already-reported drug bust is reported on by the NYT, the LA times, CBS news, NBC and others, as Frank's escapades were, then I will begin to agree.
I am only surprised that anyone cares.
Some of us like to compare the different coverage that certain events get from different news sources. Of course, I'll bet that most here (myself included) hope that the perv rots in jail forever.....that's how much I care about him. The story, however, serves as a reference standard to evaluate how news is reported.

Living here in the bowels of NYC liberalism can sometimes have a few minor rewards to make up for its warped and depraved politics and lifestyles. Any day you can walk around Greenwich Village, the upper east or west sides, Central Park or midtown Manhattan and be treated to your own private freak show of the famous and not so famous wierd.

Boy George really needs better friends Oct. 15, 2005 12:00 AM
www.azcentral.com
Two scenarios ran through our mind after Boy George called police to report a burglary, only to be busted when cops reportedly found mounds of cocaine lying around the former Culture Club kid's New York apartment:
The aliens that mind-controlled Rosie O'Donnell into bringing George's fail-tastic Taboo to Broadway in an effort to drive them both insane returned to finish the job by planting the incriminating blow. (The aliens' work with O'Donnell was completed months ago when she began publishing her stream-of-consciousness blog.)
Or George, naïve to the whole "drug culture," assumed the baggies of powder were merely baking supplies left by a thoughtful foodie pal.
The truth, per the New York Post, however, could have occurred to us only in our slightly fevered imagination.
According to the tab, George had that morning hired a male prostitute, who demanded the DJ hand over all the money in the house. The Post source says George, not in his most sober state, responded by calling 911, failing to consider that his house was perhaps not fit for law-enforcement company. The hustler left, but police found George and a female pal, who "flipped on her friend" and volunteered that George had a large stash of Bolivian nostril powder in the bedroom.
And that, as Paul Harvey would say, is the rest of the story.

The 'mainstream' media who deify homosexuality will avoid this one like the plagueI don't think so. It seems all the cable news outlets carried the story and also the wire services. I don't know about network news. I think the story is not getting a lot of attention because Boy George is a has been and what ever he does is only of mild interest to a few. It is gay sex crimes and murderers the media tends to cover up. Not idiots like Boy George.

That was funny! I'm glad to see that Rosie is not getting off the hook for inflicting "Taboo" upon the world.
Knowing trash like that failed gives me just a bit of hope for humanity's future. :-)

You're welcome - lol!
It take my mind off the fact that except for George's severe mental affliction, without the makeup he looks like he'd fit right in with any old crowd of "wholesome" soccer hooligans.
