A totally illegitimate win by the Sox. They didn't win anything tonight. And that ump is a mental deficient. That ball was in the glove AND he called the batter out. End of story. This wasn't a real win. It was a gimme to the Sox. They can't beat the Angels without a moron of an ump helping them. Enjoy your gift Sox fans, it's the last win you'll get this year.

Too close to call, IMHO. I can't tell if it hit the ground or not. It looks like a matter of less than a quarter of an inch one way or the other.

"AND he called the batter out."
Called him out TWICE, in effect -- First with his right arm extended (to indicate 3rd strike) and then AGAIN with his arm vertical, making a fist. Incredible, isn't it?

didn't see it. What's the controversey?
To: RichInOC
Black Sox 2005.
This was cheating unethical behavior.
For a team to take a win like that shows they do not have what it takes.

I saw one clip of it playing backwards and it looked like the ball bounced, but the replay definitely looks like it was a catch, and that's how it should have been ruled

One he caught it on the fly.
Two, even if not, he called it a strikeout.
Players walk off field based on umps call.
Not right.

It's still not the Sox's fault that the ump went, "Strike three! You're out...uh, just kidding."

It was clearly caught!!! Did you see any dust or dirt kick up?
The Angels were flat out ROBBED tonight. I'm a baseball purist and I hate it when this crap happens in the game.
