Last Monday morning, within minutes (maybe seconds) of the President's nomination, Kristol was on Fox & Friends trashing the President and Harriet Miers.
Kristol should learn to keep his smirk under control. It's very revealing.
The state of Texas. He was on the Texas Supreme Court.
Whose side was paying Owens?
The state of Texas. She was on the Texas Supreme Court.
The media desperately doesn't want Dubya to be the one to put the first hispanic on the bench so I am always suspicious of anything I see in the MSM
Independent research is the only way to reach understanding.
Border lockups
Even before I knew much about him, I always hated that smug little smirk of his. (Kristol)
Kristol is nothing more than McCain's puppet. Willing to do the dirty work. Ugh.
Well thank you very much. You are the first dissentor to give an actual, specific reason for your reservations. You have my respect sir
LOL. I wondered why they would be locking up birders.
Really good stuff here I agree.
Typical of Mier's critics in most posts recently. "Gary Bauer is right! She's awful!" but then you don't bother to provide any information on what he said, what arguments he actually made so that others can judge. I might agree, I might not, but I won't take your unsupported word for it.
It's the same as those whose entire mantra is "She's unqualified" without saying what the quallifications must be.
And the list you provide, including Bork, is not exactly a group with actual achievements. They've all spouted off a lot, sometimes some of them are quite interesting to read. Some aren't worth spitting on, particularly ol' Pat, Teddy boys favorite NAZI, who he used for years to make conservatives look bad by saying he was "the conservative spokesman."
Besides getting face time for themselves or writing interesting columns, what have any of the list you cite actually achieved? Taught Bill and Hill all they needed to know about con law? Now that's an achievement. What offices have they held? What cases have they won before a court that lead you to hold them up as the end all and be all on this matter?
Remember that Gore was pro-life and pro-guns back then too. He changed and became more liberal later on.
It is obvious to me Kristol has no principles. He's all about power and influence. Hence the supporting of Colin Powell followed by the trashing of Powell. If Powell announced for 2008 and McCain didn't run, Powell would have Kristol's support, and he wouldn't bat an eye doing it...especially if Jeb Bush were running!
It's weird about Levin.
I really enjoyed his grating, irritating voice when he was slamming dems, but it has become grating and irritating to me lately.
I've turned him off, along with the two blondes (Laura and Ann)
All these tantrums over this nomination does nothing to help anyone but it does give the dems a good chuckle.
Of course, he who laughs last, laughs best, but I suspect the Kristol types will be disgruntled for life.
I have heard some on FR say that even is Meiers votes their way on every single issue, she ought not be on the bench.
That's logical?
Krystol sounds really happy today. The anti-Bush Republicans have a new hero.
I like Richard Viguerie. This is the best we can do, with the Senate we have, and with the Plame case, and with the war, and with the natural disasters, and with the price of oil, and with our President. It's a hell of a lot better than Ginsburg, Souter, Stevens and Breyer, I'm sure. I guess Kennedy will now be the swing vote.
Even the hateful Jesse Jackson began as pro life.
They're not letting birds cross the borders???????????/
His answers were anything BUT scripted and you know it
Also .. it was not the only reason why I believe he will follow the Constitution
I take it that you are against Roberts being on the Court also?
Good point, Morgan. I do remember those Gore days now that you mention it. I will wait for the hearings before digging in my heels.
They cant provide any reasons why she is not a good pick, because they dont know. Forget Bauer and all the other "Know it alls" and wait for the hearings. This like discussing Black Holes. We know they exist, but that is about it. We can speculate and theorize all we want, but the bottom line is no one knows how qualified the nominee is. We can form a better opinion after the hearings..
