President Bush Job Approval

Updated Daily by Noon Eastern Bush Job Approval

Strongly Approve 23% Somewhat Approve 25% Somewhat Disapprove 15% Strongly Disapprove 37% RasmussenReports.com

Saturday October 08, 2005--Forty-eight percent (48%) of American adults now approve of the way George W. Bush is performing his role as President. That matches the highest level of Approval the President has received in September or October. Still, it remains to be seen whether this increase reflects real improvement or merely statistical noise.

Fifty-one percent (51%) Disapprove.

The President's performance in office earns Approval from 81% of Republicans, 18% of Democrats, and 43% of those not affiliated with either major political party.

In New Jersey, the race for Governor is getting a bit closer. Senator Jon Corzine's lead has slipped to single digits over Republican Doug Forrester. The race to be Virginia's next Governor is tied with Republican Jerry Kilgore and Democrat Tim Kaine both earning 45% of the vote.

Forty-eight percent (48%) of Americans rate the way things are going in Iraq as poor. However, just 23% consider themselves part of the anti-War movement.

During 2004, reports on the President Job Approval were based upon surveys of Likely Voters. Typically, a survey of Likely Voters would report a Job Approval rating 2-3 points higher than a survey of all adults.

On Election Day, the President's Job Approval was at 52%. During all of 2004, the President's Job Approval ranged from a high of 57% in early January to a low of 48% on May 17.

The President's highest rating of 2005 was 54% on February

Yeah, but Rasmussen's poll is completely flawed. The only way to get accurate numbers is to weight the data 57% Democrate, 43% Republican like CBS did in its last poll.

If Cheney would do his job, and get out there every day and fight the war of words, Bush's approval rating would be closer to 60% IMO.

Aren't something like 75% of Americans now liberals, up from 15% November last? Sure hasn't hit Oklahoma yet, but the Democrats must be surging rapidly in every other state, so I'm told by the C-BS/DNC/PUSH-Poll.

The unwashed masses are being fed a load of cr@p by a liberal mainstream media on a daily basis. While this is going on, the neutered Republican "leadership" either says nothing or agrees with the MSM. Could this have something to do with the 48% figure? Could be!

America has three major enemies:

Terrorism, the Democrats and the Press,

and the greatest of these is the Press.

Without the Press, the Dems wouldn't have a snowball's chance in the hot place.

With a favorable (or fair) press, terrorism could be easily defeated with the entire country firmly with Bush in the fight.

Polls are just another example of the press making news.

Yea. Brainwashed residents and ex-residents of NY, CT, MA, VT, RI and ME: In other words, the NY Times sphere of influence.

(These are the same people who keep saying "It's all about oil"-even though our imports from Iraq haven't increased one barrel since before the war.)

Of course this means a lot to liberals, because liberals are consumed by group think. It means everything to them.

And they can't comprehend that it wouldn't matter to other people and it makes them angry. That's way they are obsessive over it.

Bush is leading. Thats never a popular thing. If popularity was his only desire he could easily appease the libs and Moderates. His poll ratings would get better and the USA would suffer in the long haul. Other than spending us out house and home, and border security he is leading the way.

Bush goes with what he feels is right and let the polls be damned. In that respect he's the antithesis of Slick Willie. You may disagree with him (as I do sometimes) but he's never been afraid to act on HIS judgement, just ask the Miers detractors.

Why the 4 categories? Has it always been this way?

Somewhat approve/disapprove is a cop out.

"Somewhat approve/disapprove is a cop out."

The "somewhat approve" may be for people like me, who like Pres. Bush and agree with many of his policies (tax cuts, WOT, most judicial appointments, etc.), but wish the WOT were being more aggressively pursued, that he'd veto some of those pork-stuffed bills, that he'd cut spending, etc. So I agree it's not a reliable measure.

Agee with you....somewhat is a cop out. That could fit those that love everything but want to carp about Harriet Miers. I would think that for one to switch from the somewhat category to throw the bums out would tend to favor the incumbent(s). I'm thinking the support is higher amongst us unwashed masses than the polls show.

Only 48% approval rating? Wow!! Does that mean that he won't win a third term in 2008?

GWB dosen't give a fat rat's butt. He will be laughing all the way back to Texas.
