Coulter Coming up On Maher

Posted on 10/07/2005 7:56:06 PM PDT by Dustin Hawkins

For those with HBO (and who can stomach Maher's nauseating spiel), Coulter will be on with Andrew Sullivan, and... Ben Affleck! Ahem. Anyway...

Relax. Ann is just disgusted beyond belief like the rest of us who expected Bush to nominate a no-doubt-about-it conservative in the mold of Scalia and Thomas. You know - - like he promised before we all enthusiastically voted for him. But Bush turned yellow and ran away from the RINOs like a bunny rabbit and stiffed the country royally and Ann is upset. Big deal. So is everybody else (except the Democrats and the Bush sychophants).

That is as nasty a statement as I have ever heard. She needs to apologize for that. How pathetic can you get??

"Batter up."

Pinch hitter okay?

Sorry to everyone who's offended, but I agree with almost every one of the comments you quote.

Bush makes no secret of the fact that he has in the past drunk more than might have been wise, that he in fact "boozed it up" in the 80s (as I did in the 70s and early 80s, till I got married. The last time I was seriously drunk was Dec 31, 1986.)

She doesn't imply that he's boozing it up now, or deny that people can change -- repent, reform, and get on the right track.

You might say that she's guilty of lese majestie, but we don't have royalty in our republic. In the US, truth is a defense against slander.

The only thing she says that I disagree with is that a finely honed hatred of liberals can only be acquired at elite universities. At the same time, though, time at elite universities could confer valuable experience in dealing with the little tropes and tricks of Satan's catamites, and that experience might be difficult to gain elsewhere.

---That is a terrible disrespect and she ought to apologise.---

I don't think she's capable of an honest apology. I don't think she has the depth for it.

you only hurt your cause when you treat them with respect they don't deserve.

Beautiful. Beautiful. I nominate this for the post of the month. Maybe of the year.

Then she can say what she thinks on a conservative show... not a slime show like BM's.

I agree 100%. She debases herself by being in the same zip code as that scummy little pissant.

"This was an uncalled for low blow, not true literally, and not true figuratively."

I keep thinking about that incident where Beelzebubba's SOS (which could mean Secretary of State or sh*t on a shingle, take your choice) Mad Maddie Alldumb went to some international confab, walked in on some foreign diplos, and was ordered out of the room because they thought she was the cleaning lady. Remember that?

In comparison to great and distinguished legal minds with a track record, such as Robert Bork, a lawyer like Miers might fairly be termed a cleaning lady, because that's analogous to the role she's played WRT Bush.

Wow, I've come across DtP a few times and he has a knack for putting it straight up. Good find.

That ties in with one of the quotes Coulter made earlier this week, which illustrates DtP's point pretty well:

Being on the Supreme Court isn't like winning a "Best Employee of the Month" award. It's a real job.

Dennis: the idea that a real good lawyer who passed on the whole academic and judgeship routine to practice in the Real World can end up on the Supreme Court isn’t one that invokes much horror in those who inhabit said Real World.

That would be the "normal Americans" Coulter referred to, who (according to her) believe the devil is abstract, unlike the elite grads who deal with the devil every day.

That "cleaning lady" remark is absolutely uncalled for.

It's hyperbolic, but it's fair criticism. It's no more a stretch than Bush staring wide-eyed at a television camera and saying, without smirking or laughing at loud, that Miers was the "best qualified" person he could find to nominate.

Nobody KNOWN to be like them will be confirmed. It won't happen. Accept it. Harriet Meyers is PROBABLY like them. We don't know. The Democrats don't know. So they WILL confirm her.

I trust Bush. That's why I voted for him. You and Coulter are like Samson you will bring the whole damn house down on all our heads. I am waiting for the next book, Conservative Crack Up Part Deux. We have to be united!!! We have too many fronts to fight on as it is. The terrorists, the Democrats and the Media. We can't fight each other too.

You really don't have to explain the insult, we are very aware of it. That only makes it more disgusting. Pretty much up there with the Uncle Thomas jokes that were as equally offensive. You may think it's funny, but most civil people find it repulsive and makes us all look pathetic.

She sounds like an elitist jackass. I'm not crazy about W's new nominee, but the skeleton's comments sound exactly like an ivy league college professor. She's turned into a cottage industry with her repetitive never ending books all of us good conservatives are supposed to purchase to support the cause, man. We get it Ann...repubs good...libs bad.

Excuse me? Name the Chief Justice on the United States Supreme Court.

Well if you compare Miers accomplishments in the legal field to Ann Coulters' then Ann Coulter is a cleaning lady. How do like that? It was an ugly personal attack. Ugly and gratuitous.

Did she call President George W Bush, shrub too! That would be hysterical...pathetic and only makes us all look stupid. Humor only works if it has a hint of truth which is not in this case....a CEO of a law firm???
