Sunday would be a silly time for a subway attack. The subways are packed at rush hour. Otherwise, depending on what's going on, they're scarcely occupied. Maybe in midtown, say when the theaters let out, but even that is pushing it. Not all the shows run the same. Actually, most people seeing shows are tourists, anyway, and wouldn't be in the subway.
sooooo I have no idea why a Sunday.

But they say the threat is against subways however they have never said that the "Iraqi 3" pointed to that...maybe just based on actions in London Madrid and Russia.

Why be picky. Let's bomb them all. Then our children won't inherit this problem.

A huge, weeklong event here, too.

Earlier reports said two days of attacks were possible...today was mentioned as a possible day. Maybe today was supposed to be 'subway' part...and sunday is a football game?

Jets at home(the Meadowlands) against Tampa Bay.

"The source passed a polygraph test having to do with knowledge of the possible attacks in New York, the official said." This is exactly what I heard them say on CBS News. I don't know if it was Bloomberg speaking or who. But they said he had taken a polograph and passed it, and then said BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN WHAT HE SAID WAS TRUE.
My head just keeps spinning and spinning.

There's a race in Kansas city on Sunday. It's a bigger crowd than any baseball or football game. On the other hand, anything but a "lilly white" jihadi will stick out like a sore thumb.

9th&10th don't seem like good days for maximum damage. Monday is Colubus Day though, maybe a symbolic strike???

That was why I was asking if the Yankees are playing on Sunday... The playoff schedule was only announced mere days ago. They couldn't have planned for it.
What about the Giants or Jet???
They've over in the Meadowlands in New Jersey. You could get there from the Port Authority bus terminal, but not the subway. Most fans arrive hours early via car to tailgate.
Also, a Sunday at this time of year, if the weather is good, I would think would find Central Park packed!
Not this time of the year. You couldn't count on the weather being good. Seasonalbe weather would bring a moderate amount of people scatteered throughout the park. Also, no subways running under the park.
I couldn't guess at their target.

Bigger crowd? How big...Meadowlands is 73,000
To: Txsleuth
It's supposed to rain here all weekend.
The Jets are playing at the Meadowlands on Sunday, but the subways won't be full because of it. It's in New Jersey, and most people drive. Some take a bus from the Port Authority Bus Terminal. But no train goes there.
The Yankees could play here on Sunday if tomorrow's game gets rained out.
