PARIS A former U.S. Marine in Iraq alleges that his battalion committed atrocities against Iraqi civilians during the U.S.-led invasion in 2003, including shooting unarmed protesters.
Jimmy Massey, a staff sergeant who was in the Marines for 12 years and served three months in Iraq before being honorably discharged with post-traumatic stress syndrome, details the allegations in his book, Kill! Kill! Kill!, written with the French journalist Natasha Saulnier and published in France.
A Pentagon spokeswoman said Massey's complaints had already been investigated and found to be unsubstantiated.
Massey said he was in charge of a platoon in the 3rd Batallion of Regimental Combat Team 7, responsible for setting up checkpoints and providing armed cover against terrorists and insurgents.
He alleges that over a period of a month and a half in 2003, his platoon killed more than 30 civilians in Iraq.
Mr. Massey made allegations of genocide by members of his command, 3rd Battalion, 7th Marines, resulting in an investigation, she said.

The thing is, even though I disagree with McCain politically on a slew of issues, I don't necessarily find him to be an abhorrent person. I'm not certain that I consider McCain to be abhorrent, but there can be no doubt that he has more than a few screws loose.I think the same thing might be true of this Marine, and for pretty much the same reason.

On November 14, he received the verdict that his would be "a medical retirement." I wonder if he has the integrity to turn down his med-retirement check? I am certain he won't be applying for SSDI? < /sarcasm >
He needs to spend a few hours with his ex-compatriots. Those honorable Marines could more than likely cure his PTSD.

Is this maggot still in France?
He needs to stand in front of his troops and make his case, so they can rightfully bury his a$$!

Actually, it is not unheard of for a brief but extremely violent and traumatic firefight lasting no more than a few minutes or hours, to have very profound and long lasting effects...
My problem is not with the brevity of his tour, but with the unbelievable charges he is making against his brother Marines....

Thank you for the clarification. I read "I participated in killings of..." and also "...investigated but not substantiated..." and figured there was more of an angle to his story.
His angle is dollars....or francs...wait what do the frogs use for money? Is it euros now? Either way, he wants to be compensed, and that is all. For his lies, and for bashing his own country, former unit and personnel, and the USMC.
Disgraceful, on many levels.

He is an embarrassment to himself and a disgrace to the Marine Corps.

If Mr. Massey made allegations of genocide based on this, he has no idea what genocide is. If the U.S. wanted to commit genocide in Iraq we would have been finished with it two years ago.

Are you trying to tell me that this Marine went through what McCain went through? That seems unlikely. But what *did* he experience? Certainly a lot more that I have. How about you?

I've never been in combat, not in the military sense, no. But I have gone through enough and never used that as an excuse to promote myself or dishonor the good that has come from the bad. I'm sorry, I don't agree with this at all.
