In my high school days..circa 1990, I could bring a bullet on a key chain to school. We read SOF magazines and some guys wore camo.
School these days is so ..lame.

That's just one side of the story. Sounds like the school feels he brought it to school himself.

Sounds like the school feels he brought it to school himself.Feels? What kind of garbage is that? I don't care what they feel. I care about what the truth is.

When I was in highschool we could bring a gun to school for hunting after. We couldn't bring them on the bus but if our parents brought us we could leave them in the office. Those of us who drove could bring them as long as they stayed in our cars.

I graduated from a small private school in Mississippi back in the 80's. During deer season the principal and coaches could be seen admiring your deer rifle we had in gun racks in our pickup windows. Guns were no problem, they were a part of our lives.

This is absurd. Either there is more to this story than reported, or someone should be fired, and the school board should have to cough up compensation.
Those who can, do. Those who can't, teach. Those who can't teach administrate.

I brought primers, gunpowder, etc. to my high school and demonstrated how to reload shotgun shells in front of the whole class. Nobody thought a thing of it . . . in a small rural city . . . back in 71.

The logical continuation of the gulagization of public schools that began with the War on Drugs. I remember when they put up 20-foot high fences around my crime-free, upper-middle-class high school and locked them during school hours.

When I was in Jr. High and High School, 1940's, we occasionally brought guns to school. I bought my first pistol in the Jr. High and had to get my parents to call the hardware store across the street to get them to sell me ammunition. One of my class mates brought his fathers rifle to a football game so he could watch through the scope. A police officer came to see what he was doing. He had taken the bolt out and put it in his coat pocket so the officer said it was OK.
No one was ever shot or threatened. I guess we just knew to be careful.
