BREAKING NEWS ON CNN: POTENTIAL TERRORIST THREAT TO NY SUBWAYS
Not to mention that that the festivities this year began with a rare annular
solar eclipse occurring over much of N. Africa and the Middle East,
signalling a "blessed season" to many of the moon-god fanatics.
His last two press conferences have been 1. tape delayed 2. indoors. I think DC is probably on alert too but they don't want to scare tourists.
You will be welcome at the Threat Matrix, we are on our 31st thread, if you do not get a ping, there is always a link at the top and end of the old thread to the new one.
NWCTWX does the pings and sets up our threads, lots of links to information and survival tips on page 1 of each thread.
Credible or not, they have given us no reason to fear their words in recent times. I do believe we will be attacked again shortly, but there is no way to tell if this is the time. I am sure the action taken has already gone a long way towards postponing the event, at the very least.
Please don't flame me if this has been brought up umpteen times...I just got here.:)
Shame Olberman and the rest of the slime were not visiting with the "depressed young man" at OU when he just happened to explode! If they survived, they could have helped Norman PD and the FBI clear his apartment of all the bomb making material. What a bunch of lowlifes take up space on the cable news.
still lookin - that story was posted many hours ago on that news site, so there has to be more somewhere.
many thanks
I think that they're just playing CYA after getting jacked around by a lying PUC.
At least, I hope that's what it is. :)
To be honest I would take every alternative mode of transportation I could right now.
From what I understand of this, if we hadn't caught the guy in Iraq that gave up the info we wouldn't know about this right now?? Seems odd to me.
On some news show tonight, I heard that the Iraqi police turned over the informant to the CIA who told the FBI what the informant said. The mayor said there was more detail than usual as to time. Some other city person said they were going to be ckg out baby strollers.
Ditto. I live in the Bx and have an office in manhattan and north jersey. Tomorrow and next week- I'm leaving late and driving to Jersey- although the drivers and roads in Jersey could be more dangerous :)
It sounds like they didn't nab the bad guys so they had to warn the public for Friday and the weekend. I think the terrorist cells are all over and it might not be NYC at all.
Yes, though many try to claim Moussaoui was giong to be #20... his own comments don't seem to make that seem true though.
A New Yorker called a talk show this evening and told the host that there was an explosion in NYC last week or so, that hit phone service and that phone service would be out for a few weeks. The caller said that it was not widely reported but happened to his mom's phone service. I have no way to confirm or deny but just reporting what this caller said on am radio tonight.
So true. It's no accident that we have not been attacked since 9/11. Besides sidetracking them in Afghanistan and Iraq, we have obviously been effective in crippling the progress of others here and abroad that mean us harm. Sure, they are patient, but the terrorists are still very focused. They got lucky once. Once is enough.
BTW, I caught Michael Savage's show on radio tonight. He seems to think that the number 19 was manufactured by the Bushies to hype the 'war on terra'. Wrong, Mr Multiple Graduate Degrees. It is a magic number for the deen. Of course they would not send 15 or 20 to do the dirty deed.
The thing about NYC is that could easily have been a manhole explosion! Or something else like a contractor hitting a cable.
Did he really say that?
No extra precautions other than our ordinary protective headgear.
