Saw that mentioned on one of the threads earlier.

When you are within a hairs-thickness of being blown up, it does indeed focus the mind. But in this case, trying to make a direct connection between Saturday's explosion and what might occur in NYC is just too farfetched for me to give serious consideration to. Now you have family and friends who came very close to getting hurt, and if it was me, I'd probably be thinking every plot exposed or speculated on anywhere in the US came out of the 420 E. Lindsey mosque.

Notwithstanding my current lack of belief in a nationwide Islamic conspiracy centered in Norman/OKC, you (the people of Norman and OKC) have your own little group of Jidhadists that need serious attention by the powers that be, including the OU administration. If the wake-up call delivered by Hinrichs on Saturday is not heeded, the house cleaning needed includes state, federal and local LEO agencies, including Homeland Security.

Why in the world would any Republican Guard be resettled in Oklahoma? Who resettled them?

Bush41. Big mistake... which his son is having to clean up now.

Fazal Cheema! Where did you get his name? Is he the Pakistani roommate?

Hinrich's roommate, alright. There's at least one thread here on FR revealing his name. I did a search and found his home page, but it was taken down by the time I got there.

"It may be because you cant arrest someone without sufficient evidence for conviction."

Is having lots of explosives in your apartment a violation of some kind? If so, then the bomber's roomate should have been held for something.

I'm sure Norman is alot like the town where I went to school in the SEC. A lovely college town. It must sadden you tremendously to see your hometown turned into the front line on terror here at home. Yet you must have resolve to defend it.

You will be in my prayers.

I must have had my posts confused. I meant to say Jesse P had been around awhile--the one that claimed to call the frat--at least a couple of years.

And yes, Hoboken only around a month or more.

We need a major housecleaning and then some.

A kid who we know that is taking International Studies and spent the summer in the ME (surprised we didn't have WWIII started BTW), told some people that his prof (OU) told them that Norman/OKC is the #2 place in the US for Islamic terrorists because it is favorable for them.

No wonder, we have the keystone cops running around and the FBI office here has always been suspect. Political correctness is alive and well it seems because of the Petroleum Engineering School and the money it brings into OU. Remember the whining going on about lost revenue after they clamped down on student visas after 9-11. They are right back to where they started -- very little attention paid to student visas whether they have expired or not.

It gripes me to no end -- it is a great place to live with a really good public school system, a lot of amenities and if they had shut down that Islamic Center and other activities here after 9-11, this wouldn't be happening. The ME types here are coddled.

Lot of people I know are completely fed up with our law enforcement and OU Administration who care more about banning alcohol on campus then terrorism.

That's exactly what I kept saying -- why didn't they arrest him for not reporting bomb making in student housing? No one has been able to answer that question.

OK. David Shippers confirms. It's true. Bush the Elder left one heck of a mess for junior to deal with in the Middle East...plus he imports them. Sheeeeeeesh!

The New York City/New Jersey area #1, or is it Detroit?

Disgusting! Someone said that they increasingly became anti-American. Did they surrender on purpose?

As far as I'm concerned, those Iraqi RG were a trojan horse.

I don't know where I have been but I had no idea until this week they had been imported into OKC. No wonder Atta and Moussaouri visited this area so much.

I think you are right -- trojan horse. Wouldn't you think after everything that has happened, the folks around here would have a clue especially our law enforcement.

12 year old US citizens in training?

How old do they have to be before they can attend flight school in Norman?

I said the same thing last night in an email and I thought I was probably going nuts but it made sense when I put the puzzle pieces together. Also now makes sense about GITMO and none of them being allowed on American soil. The son did not take after his Dad.

Well, that's not exactly the kind of information they put in the University recruitment literature or in the Chamber of Commerce pamphlets.
