I caught it a little before the second plane hit and they were discussing the possiblity of it being an accident. They may have mentioned the terrorism aspect before I turned the TV on. We don't get cable so I don't think the reporting I heard was the same. We have to depend on ABC, CBS, NBC. I do remember clearly, though, that when the second plane it, it settled the issue, especially in my mind.

In the driveway, I mentioned to my husband that some idiot was trying for the Darwin Award.
On the car radio, they mentioned a second plane had hit, and my husband and I both said "Terrorist attack".
IMO, if there had only been one, none of us would know what it really was.

I agree - it is hard to interpret his views. If you go to google groups and search "Joe Hinrichs" you will see a lot of old postings - from 1999 and prior. The person who wrote these lived in Illinois at the time and I think that's where the father lived about then. The religious posts also coincide with the tech type posts which is where his interest lies. So I just figured it might be him. This person talks about graduating college in 1967 - would the age fit?

Oh, good, there are more. I'll go look at those. Yes, the 1967 would coincide with the 61-yo age I saw on most namebases, but there are a couple that said 64. I'll go with 61. He doesn't show up in the birthdate database. So far.
A friend had put me on track so I had been reading alot about Global Terrorism and the Iraqi OCB connection before 9/11 so I was sure immediately that it was deliberate, not to mention the odds of something like that happening at random are pretty slim.
I guess the MSM was trying to buy time until they could think of a way to blame it on Rush.
He wouldn't be Jewish because a baby isn't given the same name as a living family member. If the father is still alive the child can't be named after him - hence no juniors, IIIs, etc.

I copied the URL into each of my browsers and the pics came up (thought it maybe was still in my cache if per chance they were taken down).
The only other things I can think of are if you have "images" shut off in your browser, or a real slow dial up can mess you up because the pics are large.
I have all of it on tape. I'll have to check, but I think I remember the anchors on FNC discussing the possibility it was terrorism, and even mentioning Bin Laden, just moments before the second plane hit.
I'm kinda glad the flurry of reports is slowing in this case. It'll give me a chance to catch-up and write... I'll be reviewing the 911 tapes later tonight if I can get them to play. I'll put "normanbombing" as a keyword in the related threads I visit today - hopefully that will help getting the threads to be easily found in search.
It's an explosive made from common household products. It was used in the British subway bombings, and the goofy looking Shoe Bomber. Highly unstable (like nitro) and does not last very long once mixed . My guess was that is why the second wave of bombings in GB didn't work if they came from the same batch.
The AA flight? Couldn't be, the FAA said so.
The matches were there early Sunday afternoon and the kid blew himself up Saturday night. I haven't seen one picture of a candlelight vigil but I will check -- if they held it I would have thought it would have been Sunday night.
I can imagine your frustration; it appears that OU is more interested in revenue than the lives of their students.
And after looking at the NewsOK.com coverage of the guy at the feed store, I'd be very concerned about the ability of the Norman police. An office duty cop that happened to be in the store at the time Hinrichs came in supposedly phoned in Hinrichs plate three days before the bombing, and nothing was done? Nobody at least put a tail on the guy, or interviewed him (which might have been a deterrent in itself, at least in the short term). If the reports are true, it's truly discouraging -- coincidence served him up on a plate, but only the grace of God and his imcompetence as a bomber prevented a horrendous tragedy.

Yeah, I'm on dial-up, so "slow," but not "very slow" because I've always been able to open everything else. Once in a while I have to be patient, but I am usually doing something else at the same time, so waiting isn't a problem. THIS one is bugging me now, lol! Thanks.
