So, Saddamn's DEFENSE LAWYERS have spent (already!) 500 MILLION preparing his case?
Now, just HOW did they spend that many dollars in one year? Even at sky-high rates, plus per diem, plus (what - overnight Fedex envelopes?) ho can his "defense team" spend 500 million dollars in only the months since his capture?

Saddam Hussein's family has no money to pay for his defense and his legal team is demanding that either the Iraqi court trying him or the media provide the funds.
Who cares? He is a mass murderer. Some scum of the earth will step up and donate to his defense.

$500 million? Is their letterhead made of platinum? Do they all drive around Maybachs and then throw them out when they get dirty? Are they trying to reconstruct crime scenes by rebuilding Saddam's palaces?
O.J. didn't spend a tenth that much on his defense.
