Anyone naive enough to hand Bill Clinton a knife should expect to be stabbed in the back. That’s the hard lesson President George W. Bush has learned after his appointment of Clinton as part of fundraising efforts in the wake of hurricane Katrina gave the slickster a platform from which to attack Bush.
Bush, who once graciously heaped praise on Clinton during ceremonies marking the unveiling of his official White House portrait, should not be surprised. If you pal around with bums you’re going to end up bummed out.
In laying blame for post-Katrina relief failures squarely on Bush, and criticizing administration policies in other areas, Clinton cements his position as one of the most despicable politicians this country has ever produced. This is not just because he mocks the unwritten rule of political etiquette that former presidents refrain from criticizing their successors, but because he does so solely to maintain his place in the media spotlight and to advance the cause of his wife, president-in-waiting Hillary Rodham Clinton.
After most presidents leave the White House they virtually disappear. Clinton will never disappear. To him and his enormous ego, media invisibility is akin to death.
If there were any justice in the world, the 42nd president would be on the defensive, not the offensive. Because if history were not written by liberals it would record that much, if not most of the blame for 9/11 can be summed up in two words: Bill Clinton. The terrorist attacks of 9/11 are his primary legacy to America.
The original bombing of the World Trade Center in 1993, on Clinton’s watch, should have been recognized as the precursor of even greater terrorism it was, instead of a domestic police matter as Clinton treated it.
The simultaneous 1998 car bomb attacks on three U.S. embassies in East Africa -- which brought Osama bin Laden and al Qaeda to prominence for the first time -- should have been seen as the acts of war they were. Had Clinton launched an invasion of Afghanistan at that time, as Bush was finally forced to do after 9/11, it may well have prevented the later devastating terrorist attacks on New York and Washington.
And even if Clinton could not bring himself to see the embassy attacks as an act of war against the U.S., surely he could have interpreted the 2000 assault on the USS Cole in Yemen as such. But he didn’t, further emboldening terrorists in their plans to directly attack the U.S. homeland.
Clinton’s limp-wristed response to the 1998 bombings was to launch a few missiles at targets in Sudan and Afghanistan, taking time out from Monica Lewinsky in the Oval Office and lying to the American people about it. The office where Ronald Reagan refused to take his jacket off was the place where Clinton couldn’t keep his pants on.
One would think a former president who so disgraced the office, resulting in impeachment, would slink away and hide when his time in office was over. But not Clinton. Not America’s lounge lizard, who can’t resist saying, “Your place or mine?” to every TV camera, every reporter, every audience who will give him an ear.
One gift Clinton could give the world would be to bequeath his body to medical science so that his chutzpah could be dissected and studied. It takes unprecedented chutzpah for someone whose gifts to America are domestic terrorist attacks and an increase in oral sex among teenagers to criticize the current president.
Unfortunately, he will be with us ad infinitum. The night his wife was elected to the U.S. Senate I predicted she would follow Bush as president, and nothing has changed my mind. If you think Clinton is a bigmouth now, just wait until he’s back in the White House.
So true. We are cursed with him. The worst part is so many so called conservatives are trashing Bush as much as Clinton, and will help usher in Hillary and Bill part 2. I hope I don't see them here complaining when they do.

Hey, calm down everyone. We knew Clinton was sleaze before he even took office in '92. He only lived down to our every expectation, and he is still doing so. I say we let the guy keep talking. The Democrats are stuck with this guy like genital herpes.
Clinton is more like something you stepped in, got stuck all over your shoe, and gives off a foul stench until washed away.
Followed closely by Jimmy Carter, Kofi Annan, Ted Kennedy, Dianne Fine Swine and the usual gang of traitors...
Why would we think this guy is going to go away. His wife will run for president and he will be out theire talking her up and talking crap for the Republicans.
Every time there is a disaster what does the Bush administration do? They call Bill and Dad to go observe the disater relief.
Dad Bush is seen paling around with Good Ol Bill.
He won't fade away and administration won't let him.
