URGE YOUR HOUSE REP TO SIGN RAMADAN RESOLUTION

(WASHINGTON, D.C., 9/23/05) The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) today urged American Muslims and other people of conscience to call their elected representatives and ask that they sign on to a House resolution recognizing the upcoming Islamic fast of Ramadan. (Calls are best because of time constraints.)

The resolution states in part:

(1) during this time of conflict, in order to demonstrate solidarity with and support for members of the community of Islam in the United States and throughout the world, the House of Representatives recognizes the Islamic faith as one of the great religions of the world; and (2) in observance of and out of respect for the commencement of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting and spiritual renewal, the House of Representatives acknowledges the onset of Ramadan and expresses its deepest respect to Muslims in the United States and throughout the world on this significant occasion.

That's an excellent letter. When you say Jihad Watch, I take it that's Spencer's site and the letter is available (without the personal info) as you printed it?

We should all utilize something like that letter, my congressman (Jim Ryun) I feel certain will not support the resolution but a little encouragement never hurts.

That's interesting. I've heard more than a few stories like that about life on the friendly Arabian Pennisula.

About 10 years ago I considered going to work for Saudi Aramco in Saudi Arabia. I knew then it was a hostile environment and decided it might not be best to relocate my family to such a place.

Yep, Jihad Watch - It is in there somewhere in one of the posts.

Does anybody have the Advertisement that was withdrawn by Boeing? I have it but I'm sorry I don't know how to post. New at this. I tried to copy and past but it doesn't work. Boeing apologized for the ad and withdrew because of pressure from CAIR.

I called into the execs of the radio station to complain when they fired him. Did no good!

In "Black Hawk Down" as they prepare to go in to Mogadishu and nab the bad guys they talk about the locals being all jacked up on khat. Must be pretty common in that part of the world.

Send a message back to CAIR and wish them a Happy Rosh Hashanah! My kids have the day off school for Rosh Hashanah. The schools aren't allowed to talk about what Rosh Hashanah is, but Happy Rosh Hashanah anyway!

Happy Rosh Hashanah! We can't talk about Christmas either. My kids concerts are no winter concerts. Last year they changed the words to the song, "We Wish You A Merry Christmas" to "We Wish You A Happy Holiday". That didn't go off too well with some of the parents in our district. We've tolerated the absence of Christ in Christmas, and now we have to change traditional Christmas songs?

Islam is a disease that needs to be stamped out, period. If Santorum, Specter, and Melissa Hart know what's good for 'em politically they'll stay the h**l away from any resolution or I will personally lead the vanguard effort to defeat them at the polls!

This is one conservative who is sick of holding his nose and pulling the "R" lever in the voting booth.

FlowJo, I posted this article written by D.C. Watson here the other day, which originated over at Dhimmi Watch about this ridiculous, unnecessary Ramadan resolution. Tis a must read for sure. It was posted here a few days ago if anyone can locate it.

A lot of people DID go to work for ARAMCO and they came back with a whole boatload of money. I've never been to Aramco, but I'd heard that it's so big and most folks never have to leave the compound. Women can drive on the compound and a lot of folks have learned the finer points of making their own wine. I've been to a lot of countries, and most places have SOME charm, SOME remdeeming characteristics. With the exception of the weather (I like hot weather), Saudi Arabia is totally without any redeeming qualities.

I have a better idea.......write your congresscritter and asked that CAIR be investigated for ties to terrorism, better yet just deport the @sshole and level their buildings.
Works for me.

I did too FlowJo! I had just started listening to Michael Graham through a link on Free Republic a few days before he was suspended.

Since you are new here, you may not know that Michael Graham is a FReeper. Here is one link, of many, to a post by Michael Graham about his suspension...before he was actually fired.

Post by Michael Graham aka "suspects" about CAIR

Must be pretty common in that part of the world.

Khat is easily available in the U.S. - "If you are in a community with Somalian immigrants, khat is coming.............". - U.S. Customs seized 3.6 tons of khat during Ramadan alone during 2002....

Khat is common usage among most Asian immigrants who are mostly Muslim.

FloJo and Silverleaf, don't let the schools get away with this. My daughter who helps put on her children's Christmas program, insisted that no words would be changed and that the greeting of Merry Christmas be used along with all holiday greetings of all religions - and with the help of 98% of parents, they threw out Kwanzaa! All this in the heart of liberal CT. If your school disallows freedom of speech but allows Islam and Kwanzaa to be celebrated, Ladies...DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! You are the People!
