That's interesting. I've heard more than a few stories like that about life on the friendly Arabian Pennisula.
About 10 years ago I considered going to work for Saudi Aramco in Saudi Arabia. I knew then it was a hostile environment and decided it might not be best to relocate my family to such a place.
A lot of people DID go to work for ARAMCO and they came back with a whole boatload of money. I've never been to Aramco, but I'd heard that it's so big and most folks never have to leave the compound. Women can drive on the compound and a lot of folks have learned the finer points of making their own wine. I've been to a lot of countries, and most places have SOME charm, SOME remdeeming characteristics. With the exception of the weather (I like hot weather), Saudi Arabia is totally without any redeeming qualities.
