Hispanics Upset Bush Passed on Candidate

"President Bush has again ignored highly qualified Latino judges, attorneys and law professors who could serve the nation ably on the United States Supreme Court," said Ann Marie Tallman, executive director of the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund, after Miers' nomination was announced Monday.

[. . .]

"The failure of this administration to nominate a Hispanic judge to the Supreme Court is a slap in the face to all those highly qualified Hispanic judges that dutifully serve on our federal courts across the nation," said Raul Yzaguirre, former president of the National Council of La Raza. "Our community continues to contribute to the greatness of this nation and yet, we are ignored for a vital role on our third branch of governance."

So, La Raspa no instructivo and their camp followers are upset.  Cry me a river.

I can imagine how hard Holland worked the telephone to talk with politically moderate and conservative latinos to interview for his story.

Wonder what the Asian community thinks?  Far as I know, they didn't even have a candidate on the list.  Seems like that part of our community is overdue for some consideration, if race and ethnicity matter so much to the AP.

They need to talk to the dems about Estrada.. As for them getting the shaft - hey, join the club. Us conservatives are, um, there is no pleasant way to put this - hurting badly after this pick.

Yes, we need to wait and see - but why pass over KNOWN conservatives.

In related news, Gay Dyslexic Stammering Left-Handed Paraplegic Iowa Worm Farmers were dismayed that Bush didn't nominate a candidate from their constituency.

Did the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund complain, and did the Washington Post report, this type of stink when the demo-rats threw Miguel Estrada into the ash heap?

Most "Hispanics" I know (and I know several from various countries) really don't give a sh-t. The culeros in La Raza have ZERO INFLUENCE other than in shaking down the Ford Foundation for more money.

I'm still waiting for the first Polish/Italian agnostic candidate, but I'm not holding my breath.

Considering Bush's view of a "North American Union" and his happy-go-lucky, unconstitutional, willingness to allow an invasion of the USA by illegal Mexican immigrants..I can only say how truly PLEASED I am that he did not pick a Hispanic for the Supreme Court.

We'd be Mexico a lot sooner with one of Bush's Hispanic Friends as a judge...Flame on..if you must.
