© 2005 WorldNetDaily.com Local and federal agents were carting away what was described as a huge cache of explosives from the apartment of the 21-year-old student who blew himself up outside the stadium where 84,000 watched a Sooners football game.
Joel Henry Hinrichs III, 21, a junior from Colorado Springs, Colo., died in the explosion, according to FBI officials.
Investigators believe Hinrichs detonated a bomb about 8 p.m. Saturday, just 100 yards away from the packed football stadium.
Police were overheard telling residents it would take "several trips and could take up to 24 hours" to remove it all, according to the Daily Oklahoman.
A canister trailer used for detonating or transporting potentially explosive material was being used to haul items away.
Officials said Hinrichs' motive for blowing himself up Saturday near the Gaylord Family - Oklahoma Memorial Stadium during the second quarter of OU's game against Kansas State remains under investigation.
OU President David Boren said Hinrichs was a student "who had very, serious personal problems that led to this tragic death."
Because of what happened, Boren said, the FBI had taken over the investigation.
Boren said the student had explosives strapped to his body.
Investigators would not say whether they believe Hinrichs intended to go inside the stadium before the detonation happened.
Playing Devil's Advocate....
Might it be that for once in their dismal lives the MSM is acting responsibly and cooperating with the FBI to allow time for them to catch co-conspirators?
Ok, Ok, silly idea. Howbout this: They haven't figured how they can hang this on Bush yet?
You might want to hit abuse on yourself regarding that post to keep this thread from being deleted and/or to keep in good graces with the Mods.....(we're not supposed to link to that site either).
I know because my two sons sadly (to me anyway) converted to Islam a few years ago.

Apparently The Northeast Intelligence Network is not trusted around here. There's a reason for this. If one of us made stuff up in our basement, it wouldn't be trusted here either. We leave that sort of thing to CBS News.

Why did they pull it? Are we not supposed to link to WND stories?
Sure makes you wonder....
I'm in upstate NY. Most of the headlines lately have been about a local guy who abducted his daughter, dropped her off, stole some cars, and held a couple people hostage. Sunday's haedline was about- I'm NOT kidding- manure lagoons. What planet has the editor been on in the last couple of days?
Whatever the reason for spiking this story, whether for "good" motives or "bad", the very fact that this is happening is significant.
What's amazing is that we're seeing this here, but don't see it in many other cases where it would seem at least as well justified.
Whatever the explanation, the very fact that this is taking place has profound implications for those who are concerned about global control of commercial media.
If news can be blacked out for something like this, it can be done for anything.
That's much bigger news than the bombing itself.
So I baked them those cookies and took them on that pheasant hunt for nothing?
Somebody joked yesterday... a 'phone-call'.
It's crystal clear to me that this guy wasn't planning to blow himself up, but to kill thousands and plant more bombs later. Thank God, his plot failed and he didn't kill anyone but himself.
I know, it was just a joke.
:^)
One possibility (not claiming this is how it worked...) Buys cheap throw away cell phone, wires to bomb. Goes in Stadium and leaves vest, backpack, etc.
Goes outside and calls it.
But before he gets in, while arming it, the cell phone gets a call, or he pushes a button accidently on it, causing the speaker to sound (the easiest circuit to tap for trigger pulse is the cellphone ringer and/or speaker).
Tinfoil hats say that there are cell phone blockers in stadiums, but if there are they sure don't block outbound calls. Although I've had my cellphone take a message instead of ring while sitting in a ballpark, I assumed it was just cuz of excess circuit use in the ballpark. You sure see enough people on cell phones in ballparks.
Ok, I'll get back on my meds now...
I don't know how true the Islamic materials part is - it was posted on NEIN, which is sort of like Debka - sometimes right on target and ahead of the pack, and sometimes raving. However, someone else said that the Islamic materials may have come from his search for a way to build a suicide vest, which is apparently a common feature of Muslim websites...
The bomb making stuff has been reported elsewhere, so it seems legit. Go to the NEIN website to see a picture of the special armored bomb cannister being taken away from his apartment, according to NEIN, laden with explosives.
Yes, he did. Mental ilness caused by Islam.
As with most stories, I found it here first on FR.
