Google News' liberal bias? (vanity)

Has anyone else noticed a liberal bias in the headlines Google News lists on its front page and in its search results?

Example: articles on Harriet Miers:

• Nominee without a past has experts wondering
• Democrats, rejoice: Right says wrong on Harriet Miers
• 60-yr-old with no judicial experience is US Supreme Court Justice [sic]
• Miers, Bush's Lawyer, Selected for US Supreme Court
• Miers had stormy tenure at Texas Lottery
• Harriet Miers: Supreme Court Choice with Few Footprints
• High Court Nominee Has Never Been a Judge
• Hispanics Upset Bush Passed on Candidate
• Court pick is unknown quantity
• During stint at Texas Lottery, Miers 'maybe ate nails'

There are a few articles that cast Miers in a better light, but they have less "relevance".

I've noticed somewhat of a bias before, but this is becoming more obvious. Anyone else?

There may be a bias but also their news results are reflective of the sources they search - the bias could be in the sources.

Oh, Gawd, here we go again.....

Google and google news is an entirely automated entity.
Its based on automated criteria, such as the number of links, the freshness of the story, and the degree to which new words and phrases start appearing all over the world.

It shows those articles because it mines (digs through) MSM press web sites. The MSM is left, so thats what you get.

I've heard of blaming the messenger, but why resort to blaming the messenger's mail pouch.

Google ranks news sources (and web hits, for that matter) according to "credibility."

Google is a very liberal organization with bed wetter owners --- with clear opinions about what is credible and what is not.

I stopped looking at Google News because of the left leaning liberal bias. It is in the headlines, the way they find articles that bash Bush and how Reuters, NYSlimes, LASlimes and WAPO get priority over other credible news sources.

Keep complaining. Maybe they will listen.

You want the real Google? Type in "failure" and see what Google has first up. Do not be fooled by Google. Students
using Google will be controlled by info bias. It can be dangerous in the wrong hands

I wish a rich conservative to buy stocks of google and get rid of the Liberal Sterring Commitee, replacing it with a Conservative one. That should do the job for to make it a fair Search Engine.

It's not just the news, it's the search engine as well. Try "talk radio" and see what the first result is. Tell me how that could possibly be the most popular.
