believe me EVERYONE here knows EVERYTHING about her except you and me. This should be obvious, given the wealth of information available about her..(sarcasm) If only we could find a pill that would instantly remove ego, then all would be good..

""Thank You for understanding that support for our troops is my #1 personal agenda"

You call this a "pet project" ? Something is seriously wrong with your thinking "

Quiz time!

Someone who is committed to supporting our troops (even when they do stupid things like abuse prisoners) and making it easier to catch the bad guys gets appointed for supreme court. They are also pro-abortion, pro-gun control, and pro-seperation of church and state.....Is it a good candidate?

I respect the ACLJ and I hope of course that Jay is right about her. I don't Like Harry Ried and I hope he is wrong about her. Therein lies the problem. We have a "trust me" pick instead of a "no doubt" pick with a paper trail.

I don't feel anything at this point, certainly not support for her. Perhaps that will change, but today I really don't care if she gets voted down. For today I'd rather see her lose and get another shot at the real deal than have to hope this pans out.

I also hope I have to eat these words for the next 40 years as she proves over and over she was the right choice. For today, I'm bummed and disappointed. Really bummed.

WORLD MAG SAYS MIERS IS:

1) CONSERVATIVE
2) CHRISTIAN
3) PRO-LIFE.

She is a good pick if this is true.

All this hand-wringing is ridiculous. yeah, I would have liked Brown as well. But, Bush knows Miers. We don't.

There is no reason to freak out about everything. Life is too short. Unless we have reason to freak out about her, RELAX. Trust that the president knows what he is doing.

Or do you actually think YOU know more about her than him despite never having met her?????

In the coming days, we may find reasons to get concerned, but there is none right now. She has never been a judge. So what! She has donated to Dems 20 years ago. So what!

People who know her tell World she is pro-life and conservative. Her pastor says she has a strong faith in his conservative church.

RELAX and put down the torches.

Maybe you are right, but Harry Reid was not the endorsement I was looking for.

I have praised her administrative abilities, and wonder why the chief executive would relinquish a capable person. Her qualifications as a jurist are what I question. Since she has been nominated to be a Supreme Court justice, I would expect some judicial experience. Considering the highly qualified, and experienced pool of women and men available. And I am pretty familiar with her record.

Oooooo! Juan Williams! Well, that settles it. Our troubles are over now! (/sarcasm)

"Republicans and democrats suggested Miers."

That the usual Rat suspects didn't balk at the choice is what concerns me. At this point the strategery appears to be to just get someone approved; and getting a quality justice takes a backseat to that. It's OK, I'm getting used to it...

Hey, do you remember what the difference between Democrats and Republicans is? I know that I used to know, back when there was one. But that was years ago. These days it's mostly just the type of food coloring they use in the Kool-Aid.

Your "perceived to know" quotient is not accurate.

Most of what I "perceived to know" is indeed accurate.

Do you now understand?

Do you?

My point is that asking for Military experience is valid. Picking a women, Black or Mexican only is a political move. A movement that needs to stop.

Also, her friends say she is pro-LIFE.

And she said:

"If confirmed, I recognize I will have a tremendous responsibility to keep our judicial system strong and to help insure the court meets their obligations to STRICTLY apply the laws and Constitution."

The American Center for Law and Justice has endorsed her and said she will be a strict constructionist based on PERSONAL experience working with her on cases.

?

I'm curious. Please point out where I was talking about Miers. Now if you are asking when I last spoke with the mythical canidate I made up, then I'd say a little under 23 minutes ago.

Her role is more than administrative. I've already heard she had much to say on measuring judicial philosophy of each candidate.

William Rehnquist was a clerk for Robert Jackson, a man who was the United States Prosecutor for war crimes at Nuremberg, an outstanding Attorney and Solicitor General, and an accomplished justice on the U.S. Supreme Court.

What part of her curriculum vitae measures up to that?
