A University of Oklahoma student died in an explosion Saturday night near a stadium packed with 84,000 people. Although the investigation is not complete, the medical examiner believes Joel Henry Hinrichs III, 21, of Colorado Springs, Colo., perished in the blast, said Salvador Hernandez, special agent in charge of the FBI in Oklahoma .
Hinrichs died about 8 p.m. when an explosive detonated near the Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.
According to the universitys Web site, Hinrichs was a junior in the college of engineering.
There were no reports of any other injuries and university officials have said the spectators at the game were in no danger at any time.
Initially, police believed there were two explosives -- the one that detonated and another that didn't -- but a later search found no other device.
University President David Boren said a police bomb squad did detonate an item found at the blast site to ensure that it was not an explosive.
I own a copy of the Koran. Of course, I also have a copy of the Book of Mormon, the Baghavad Gita, and about a dozen different English and Hebrew bibles.
I'm skeptical, to put it mildly, of any information coming from that particular website.
Not familiar with that site but many here tell me it's not really a good source to take seriously all the time.

Have you considered the possibility that they gave us what they knew?
Me too... my son. :-)
And he always said the junior year was the hardest.
Norman residents are reporting another blast tonight in Norman on the other thread, and apparantly, KFOR in the Norman area also reported it on air.
With a name like 'Joel Henry Hinrichs III', he hadda be an Islamonazi!>>>>>
Not only that, he just looked so dorky, not sinister enough. I mean like a really long beard or something
Not exactly what you're seeking, but >>>

Bomb Defendant Pleads Guilty To Misdemeanor
September 26, 2005
OKLAHOMA CITY -- A University of Oklahoma student charged with bringing an explosive device to an airport pleaded guilty Monday to a misdemeanor charge in federal court in Oklahoma City.
Charles Alfred Dreyling Jr. faces up to a year in prison and a $100,000 fine at a future sentencing hearing.
Federal sentencing guidelines could recommend a prison term of as little as four months, but he could be eligible for some form of probation.
Dreyling, 24, was arrested in August at Will Rogers World Airport after security personnel noticed a suspicious object in his carryon bag as he was leaving for a family vacation with his parents.
Dreyling later told FBI agents the device -- a modified carbon dioxide cartridge filled with gunpowder -- was "basically a pipe bomb," according to court papers. He said he had forgotten it was in his bag.
XXX
(FWIW, pipe bombs in OK are no novelty, but it's usually high school or middle school kids that get caught with them. Happens every year and started pre-9/11...kids fiddling with formulas they find on the internet. The only novelty here is that the guy was in college...much older and smarter than the usual pipe bomb suspects.)
I hope to God this guy was just a kookburger. But then again, if he was and if you think about McVeigh, who may or may not have been associated with some Mideastern jihadists, you still have to wonder what the heck ever did these poor okies do to deserve all this crap? I think I'm gonna try to find a way around Oklahoma on my next visit to Texas.
"Norman residents are reporting another blast tonight in Norman."
These have been confirmed as controlled detonations made by the Norman police at their designated NPD site. (They won't confirm they're related to last night's incident.)
Source please?
Source for which post?
Thanks for the information, but it does not cut muster. The article must be about an American college student that commits suicide by bomb, in a public area. Once again, if they are injured or killed in the manufacture of the device, no prize. The American college student must be successful in the manufacture, transport, deployment, and detonation of the device; resulting in suicide. A confirmed note or video is a plus. My FReepmail is still empty.

For 193
If you're refering to 193, KOCO-5 started running a crawl to that effect before the 10pm news, then they and KWTV-9 and KFOR-4 all had a statement from the PIO for Norman PD stating that what people were hearing were controlled detonations and they were taking place at the NPD range.
