Rudy is a great man, but he is not conservative enough on many crucial issues.
Perhaps he could be George Allen's running mate.

Giuliani: I'm Considering 2008 Bid
I suggest he try something more productive with his time. Like taking a gourmet cooking class.

I agree, Allen/Giuliani would be a strong ticket.

I personally like Rudy, but I have a lot of trouble with some of his issue stances. He has a lot to prove to me if he wants my support.

By coincidence, things are falling into place to Giuliani's advantage.
Three things the country will demand in 2008 are competence, an anti corruption prosecutor type and someone they trust to fight the war to a winning conclusion.
If Republicans believe social issues will be at the fore in 2008, they are political suicidal.

Hannity/Coulter 2008. Brains AND looks. Unbeatable team. Name recognition. Tremendous energy. Many people of all ideologies are comfortable speaking with Hannity. Both have strong debating skills. First female VEEP. Great on issues. Already fairly well vetted I'd imagine.

He'd e good as a VP but NOT President - he's a rabid social LIBERAL. We really can't afford any more liberalizing of our morality. We need a crack down on that.

I totally agree that Rudolph Giuliani is a great man. He is not however conservative enough to get the nomination. Still he would at least make the campaign interesting (I would hope).
I can't imagine him being on the ticket in the number 2 spot either. He has so much personal baggage from affairs. Plus I'm sure the most dogged conservatives won't like that he's pro-choice and will not want him on the ticket as VP.

"I will be considering it next year," Giuliani said during a visit to Denmark.I think it would be great if he ran for president of Denmark! Is Rasmussen term-limited?

I agree with your statement. I think Rudy could win the 2008 election, but he is no conservative. We need a strong conservative - with a backbone - now more than ever.

Rudy is a great man, but he is not conservative enough on many crucial issues. Perhaps he could be George Allen's running mate. If he's too liberal to be President, then he's too liberal to be Vice President. As far as I am concerned the two have the same threshold of acceptance.

Except that he won't be taking my revolver away, I think he might be what this country needs. Rudy is a fighter and he calls them like he sees them.
We, and in fact, the entire world are at war with the devout followers of Islam and Rudy understands as only a person who was downtown on 9/11 can. He saw firsthand what we are up against...and he won't forget!
As a note to my comment above about the war with the devout followers of Islam, let me add that moderate muslims may not comprise the frontline of the enemy's position, but to the extent that moderates do not stand firmly against the hardliners, they are collaberators.
Rudy may not be as conservative as some would like, but there is IMO something more important than conservatism when one is at war. And that is effectiveness at winning the war. Of course, Rudy will have to endure through the campaign process and will have to define his positions clearly. But I, for one, am glad he is thinking of running. He has already been battle-tested and emerged as a capable leader.

We really can't afford any more liberalizing of our morality. We need a crack down on that. IMHO, we need to ensure that we continue to have a society - then we can worry about it's morality. It's going to take a high-profile Republican to defeat Hillary, someone with strength and gravitas.
To me, and it's only a personal opinion, Rudy's stand on social issues, while often at odds with mine, don't mean a hill of beans when compared to a maintaining a strong offensive posture in the war (alone, if needs be), strong defense and implementing strict immigration controls.
Rudy may not be what you want socially, but he can beat Hillary, and to me that trumps everything else.

Unless you consider becoming pro life Mr.Giuliani, you can forget about getting any support from me.

I would consider voting for Rudy if GWB appoints AT LEAST three supreme court justices. If not, no way.
