The explosion happened at the courtyard near the George Lynn Cross Hall, Botany-Microbiology Building on OU's campus, which is west of the stadium, according to Sgt. Gary Robinson of the University police department. The explosion happened during the second quarter of Oklahoma's game against Kansas State. After the explosion, police set up a perimeter of several blocks and made fans exit the stadium to the east.
NORMAN -- An explosion near the University of Oklahoma's Gaylord Family-Memorial Stadium killed one person Saturday, OU officials said.
Oh, lots of them. Many on 9-11 for instance. There's a thread about the health problems of FReeper, and Korean War Marine, Texas Cowboy, that's been running for months and is up to 6,339 posts. (That last one appears to be mine :)). Another heartwarming thread about a little baby born at under two pounds. He, who's now two year old little FReeper by the name of Texas Termite, although his Nana is temporarily posting for him, and Texas Cowboy calls him punkin, that is at 11,499 posts.
Thank you for filling that in.
We don't have cannons. What you heard were the Ruffnecks shooting off their rifles.
Paint me green and call me Gumby, but why would anyone evacuate the student apartment building and still not let them back in, IF this person was just some person committing suicide? God bless you, PhiKapMom, and stay safe.
As best I can remember, and not to be critical, but I think the eyewitness accounts are not from her, but from families members who talked to her. She did mention the sound, but a lot of her other info came from 2nd-hand information.
Not saying that her family wasn't reliable, or that she isn't faithfully communicating what they said -- just trying to see if I'm write about this clarification.
This was an interesting article from 2002 about a visting lecturer at UO. Evidently there are enough Muslims to have their own official Arab Student Association. Doesn't sound like the speaker was too welcome at the School and evidently security was a little more than the "norm".

I know but underneath the picture on the website it says FBI mugshot.
I think many people have switched from wax paper to tin foil. Care to share my roll of Aluminum Foil with me? I have plenty. ;)
It was on Channel 9 News at 10 o'clock. He was adamant that none of the fraternity had seen that depression side of this kid.
Mug shots always have a case number below the chin, with front and profile views. Camera would be set set closer to eye-level. The picture above is taken from desktop level with the person looking downward.
The FBI probably got the picture from OU. The media should know better, but they usually don't.
If they found chemicals/explosives in his room, they would keep the building vacant until they removed them. Which they seem to have done and disposed of at 9:30pm tonight.
Glad to know that you don't think this thread is "weird" anymore :)
Block away!
Boren seems stuck on the "pay no attention to the man behind the curtain" approach. If it turns out to be something more, he will not only look very foolish, but he will have lost the trust of a great many students (and their parents.)
What you said.
Thank you! I thought I was going nuts about another explosion.
This looks to me like a student ID or drivers license picture.
"Looks like President Boren is a good politician."
for a Democrat, yes.
Boren is not the only one who is going to look foolish if it turns out to be more than he let out.
