The explosion happened at the courtyard near the George Lynn Cross Hall, Botany-Microbiology Building on OU's campus, which is west of the stadium, according to Sgt. Gary Robinson of the University police department. The explosion happened during the second quarter of Oklahoma's game against Kansas State. After the explosion, police set up a perimeter of several blocks and made fans exit the stadium to the east.
NORMAN -- An explosion near the University of Oklahoma's Gaylord Family-Memorial Stadium killed one person Saturday, OU officials said.
Is there a crater from the bomb?
Generally the suicide bombings in Iraq leave rather big craters. The explosion of the size and strength you describe would have left a noticable crater.
Well we love you anyway
"Has anyone been able to have a look at the crater left by the bomb yet? Any aerial shots?"
Ssshh... Go about your business, nothing to see here.
Here's some more Prozac and Viagra, go about your business...
Like I said in another post... al Queda loves to return to the site of previous hits. Look at yesterday -- hitting Bali again. They tried to attack one of our ships a couple of weeks ago in the gulf and they never received proper 'credit' for their first hit in Oklahoma.
Because I dont agree with everyone who thinks this is OBVIOUSLY a botched terrorist attack dosent mean I'm not aware of other things that go on in the world ..nor does it mean Im a Leftist or anti war or not ready to defend myself at home or any of the other crap Im being sent GEEEEEEEEEZZZ RELAX ..I disagree with you on THIS case OK ? Is that OK with you ?..I need to see some reports and facts sorted out before I make a judgement on this situation .You're free to believe what you want as am I . For me , JUST FOR ME , I would feel it's too early to call this a botched terrorist attack as some here seem to think .If you feel it is , fine , thats ok with me . I'll wait a day or so to see what shakes out ..Tha's all I've been saying since last nigh twhen I spent hours reading this thread.
Just got off the phone with the Norman Oklahoma police...NOTHING NEW. I asked who was investigating the incident and the girl said: "It happened on the OU campus, we are not involved"..can you believe it? Then I said: "Don't you think the Feds should be involved..to which she replied:"I just got information that the FBI is investigating" Strange conversation....
BLDG #90 wasn't there when I was a student at OU. I graduated in 1970. In fact, when I was a student there the south end zone was a 'bleachers' type arrangement. I last visited campus in the mid-90s and it had been rebuilt as a concrete structure.
"...overbearing opinionated professors who punish them for being conservative..."
Don't run into much of that here at OU, but I'm also 50, retired Air Force, and not particularly likely to to respond favorably to intimidation anyway.
Well, they're saying now there was not a second device, but that the bomb squad detonated something else to make sure there wasn't a second device. However, the statements being put out in the media about the second device, or lack thereof, and why there was a second explosion, are vague and contradictory to put it mildly. So I'm still not totally convinced.
Having lived overseas in several countries, just living in the US is like living in Stepford. I remember growing up and how the Russian media was vilified for their propoganda. I'm not convinced ours isn't worse.
Suicide car bombs leave craters, suicide vest bombers...not so much.
Rosie O'Donnell?
Why not? The media has two agendas. One make money. The other is promote an agenda. Reporting the truth does not always fit conveniently into those agendas. The media has went along with the cover story that the anthrax attacks were probably from a domestic.
Fox said the FBI is involved. If it was nothing -- why would the FBI and not the Normal PD be investigating?
Im not sure how to feel about this. On one hand it sure looks like there is a news blackout on this story which makes me a bit p!$$ed off. On the other if this prevents the islamoRats from gaining a Rumpadan propaganda victory then I guess I can live with it.
"I need to see some reports and facts sorted out before I make a judgement on this situation"
Wow, you are dense. After 2000 posts here should see why Freepers are pissed.
I will clue you in.
There are no reports or facts to be sorted out after the initial explosion news last night.
The media is curiously not interested in this story and the Freepers are aggravated by the press blackout.
The suicide victim was a University of Texas fan who after seeing the Sooners play killed himself rather than have to live with a 6th consecutive victory by the Sooners over the Longhorns next Saturday.
Me either. Look how quickly everyone forgot 9/11 and even complained the media was showing the photos too often. They SHOULD be shown, and often.
~LOL~
