NASHVILLE, Tenn. Nashville police are restricting the use of tasers in the aftermath of the death of a young man who died after being shocked with them 19 times. Police Chief Ronal Serpas said today that effective immediately, tasers will be used by police supervisors only.
Also, beginning tomorrow, the supervisors will receive training on how to use them.
Serpas said the department is involved in two nationwide studies on the use of tasers and guidelines on how they should be used.
Twenty-one-year-old Patrick Lee was shocked into submission by Nashville officers a week ago after being kicked out of a bar and stripping nude. He died two days later at a hospital.
You would thimk after 10 times the police may have figured it was not working.

Now maybe we can work on eliminating radar, too. Ever since the mayor didn't get his tax increase, he's sent Serpas' cops out to write tickets to collect the money that way.

There appears to be no reason for this at all. The young man was probably on acid, but not violent, and from all accounts he was acting strangely (including taking off all his clothes) but never once became aggressive. He was less than 6 feet tall and weighed barely 150 lbs. There is no reports of him throwing cops around at all. In fact, it appears that the cops never even tried to physically restrain him other than using the tasers and then beating on him with batons. This is looking very bad for the officers (some say that there were up to 12 officers).

Sounds like this kid was high on drugs, is it possible that had something to do with him dieing.
I've never heard of a taser killing a police officer and they get shot with them in training all the time
