"Strange, I always thought of Connecticut as apple pie, a picture post card, country scene. (It's one of the few places I haven't been to).
The Fed gov sure has done a number on this country."
Well, all the largest cities are mostly populated with "minorities"....making them the majorities....LOL.
Gang violence is alive and well in Hartford CT... there's been some serious shootin goin' on there over the last few weeks....the really sad part is that this gang violence has spilled over into places which surround our larger cities. Manchester, Stratford West Haven and other smaller cities on the ourskirts of bigger cities have virtually been over-run.
I live in a small town with 5200 people in it. If I had to guess I'd say it's 98% white.
Now... I'm the minority by a large margin where I work....I'm one of the few Whiteyys ;)
left on the W. End of Bridgeport. English language is not spoken here very much. So much for a melting pot.
I did farmwork as did most male teens in my community, the girls waited tables, and did babysitting etc. Race wasn't an issue because we were all white.
I did babysitting too, but got fired because I was too easygoing with my 7 year old charge. There is a reason you should never hire a guy to babysit, even if he isn't a child molester.
"I suspect that it has something to do with the fact that the local white kids have been raised to think that such a menial job is beneath them."
Nothing could be further from the truth. The local middle class kids (Black, white and hispanic) who graduate from CT trade high schools are going jobless because of scumbag employees hiring illeglas. These thousands of kids WANT to work in their trades.... but alas... the illegals have relagated them to working as check out clerks and such in dead end jobs.
She probably pushed the wrong button. At least with the system we had when I was at McHell the Transaction button would clear an order off the screen, if you worked up front a lot you got in the habbit of pushing that button when you got the change (order of operations up front was take the order, assemble the order, take the money, give the change, next customer), which was bad in drivethru (where you give the change before the order and possibly even before assembling the order). And once that order was off the screen it was gone, there was no "whoops" button.
Gang violence in Hartford and New Heinous was even worse during the crack epidemic of the 1980s.
Funny though, I can remember when West Haven was "White (Trash) Haven" back in the day. How things have changed.
There is a big difference between the blue collar trades and working at McDonald's. I will agree that there if there is any job where illegals are displacing native born (particularly native born minorities, including Hispanics) it is in the building trades.
Also, we were discussing the attitude typical white kid in Greenwich, New Canaan and Darien, not the lower middle class blacks and Hispanics in New Haven or Bridgeport.
LOL !!!
Carlos Mencia: "Welcome to Madonna's! My take ju odor?"
Or anywhere else, for some.
FYI - The title of this story in another CT news web site is different: "Group says McDonald's hires disproportionate number of Hispanics".
Here in Mexifornia they are in almost EVERY restaurant, fast food and otherwise. Are they illegal aliens? Don't know, I just notice that they don't speak English. We don't go out much anymore except occasionally to two of our old favorite places where Americans do the cooking. Better safe than sorry.
Ju want a cheeseburger with no cheese no?
I worked at Burger King as a teenager and never felt it was demeaning, or low-status. All I knew was that I liked that extra cash. Where do your kids plan on working if they feel that fast food restaraunts are too low status for them?
Connecticut Citizens for Immigration Control
I didn't look at it, but if you want to do something about this go over the CT AG's head:

As they say where I work: "Da's Fo' dope!"
I don't know about their national hiring policy but I stopped going into my local McD's when I had to speak Spanish in order to get my order, and/or help the older person in front of me get theirs.
I do NOT want to be around those Spanish-speaking servers as I worry about exactly where I got the viral heart infection that almost killed me last year. Up until the time I was Hospitalized, I had been eating at fast-food joints several times a week. And I remember that at several of them, everyone behind the counter was speaking Spanish. In fact, the guy taking my order at one of them didn't yet speak enough English to be working at that counter, IMHO.
And if you think I'm nuts about the diseases, you should read what these folks who are running our borders are bringing in with them. I don't think most Americans would be so callous if they realied that there 6 kids in McLean, VA who have TB - courtesy of these illegals, or how many MS-13 there are in the more tony-areas of Fairfax County, like McLean, Fairfax Station and Herndon. Yuk.
The overwhelming number of illegals in the area is the reason I now live in another state. I got tired of seeing the clear-cut of every forest, the constant condo/apt. building, jobs disappearing to illegals, as well as technical jobs going to H-1B's (mostly Indian and Asian), and no new roads!
