A lot of people who agree with most of my philosophy of life are impossible for me to listen to. Rush got old, Hannity got old, and Coulter had to figure out a different way to get noticed after people got over the idea that a fairly pretty blonde lady could be an intelligent conservative. She chose wild statements and headlines.

I prefer thoughtful, intelligent, polite people like Tony Snow and Walter Williams.

Just me I guess, but I don't think these others will ever convince anyone (who is not already convinced) to see the light. They throw raw meat to the lions in return for money but only alienate those in the middle or on the fence who will be the only way to make true progress in changing the hearts and minds of Americans.

They may be right, but they are obnoxious.

I agree with much of what you said. Ann preaches to the choir. She does not win any converts. This, of course, is great for Kamikazi conservatives, the all or nothing folks who scoff at compromise and incrementalism, and think that losing is noble.

I still like to listen to Rush, but not when he's in his ranting GOP cheerleader mode. I switch off between Rush and Dennis, depending on the topic. I hope I'm wrong, but I have the fear that for the rest of this week, and for God knows how long afterwards, Rush will be raving hysterically about Tom Delay. If I listen to talk-radio during that time period, it will probably be to Prager. He has a very calming effect, which comes in handy when Rush is in one of his going apes**t moods.

Like you, I also enjoy Tony Snow and Walter Williams.

Hannity is a fine interviewer, but as with Laura Ingraham, you won't hear anything insightful from him.
