DELAY [Mark R. Levin] Here's my first take on this indictment (I've only read the indictment and nothing more for now): The indictment is three pages in length. Other than a statement that "one or more" of 3 individuals, including Tom DeLay, entered into an illegal conspiracy, I can't find a single sentence tying Tom DeLay to a crime. That is, there's not a single sentence tying DeLay to the contribution. The indictment describes the alleged conduct of two other individuals, but nothing about DeLay. You would think if Ronnie Earle had even a thin reed of testimony linking DeLay to the contribution, it would have been noted in the indictment to justify the grand jury's action. Moreover, not only is there no information about DeLay committing acts in furtherance of a conspiracy, there's no information about DeLay entering into a conspiracy. I honestly believe that unless there's more, this is an egregious abuse of prosecutorial power. It's a disgrace. I understand that not everything has to be contained in an indictment, but how about something! Posted at 01:58 PM
The grand jury didn't think so.
Then why haven't they? Or do you believe that Congressional Democrats are not only ethically irreproachable but that not one of them has ever even done anything that has the appearance of impropriety?
Your statement is demented on its face.
Rush is off today. Something always seem to happen when he is off.
Doubtless a ploy to divert energy and attention from the Supreme Court vacancy filling process that is imminent.
RDDBs have no scruples beyond their own diapers.
Republican money went to republicans. Hell, thats a no-brainer. Lets hang the son-of-a-bitch from the nearest tree.
Right. Didn't he say "it's in the indictment?"
Well, damn, it is not, according to Mark 'the great one' Levin.
His radio show is a MUST listen today.
Being a Republican is an "extraordinary circumstance." Only peripherally does it later become indictable.
In any event, Tom "Cut to the Bone" Delay hasn't really thrilled me in quite a while.
Judge Nepolitano (sp?) said the same thing
I wish that were true, but it doesn't work like that. If this indictment proves to be baloney, that will be back-page news. The Democrats already have what they wanted -- headlines that he's been indicted and is stepping down from his leadership position. That's all they wanted, all they needed, and they got it.
Call us back when you get your apples and your oranges unmixed. The one (your complaint) has got nothing, nothing at all, zip, zero, nada, to do with the other (a phony indictment of Tom Delay by an operative of the Democrat party.)
Wow! Good thinking! The Demoncrats are really busy with Frist, Delay AND Bush!! Trouble is, ALL of there people are corrupt and vile, and people like Mary Landrieue,Nagin, etc. will be exposed for the crooks they are!
You have a GOOD point there!
He's either off or like he says, they wait until after 3:00PM Eastern...lol.
Dog gone gave you the link on the other thread. Did you not get that post?
Oh, yes. It's a good thing to allow someone to misuse their power to indict someone wrongly just because they are a political opponent.
You don't like Delay? Fine. I don't give a damn.
You don't take out political differences through a witchhunt. OR, by sanctioning a witchhunt because you want someone more fiscally conservative.
It's wrong, and NOT what conservatives/Republicans should stand for.
Right, I heard Neopolitan make the same determination, but not as blunt as Mark.
I think his daughter lives in Travis County.
