DELAY [Mark R. Levin] Here's my first take on this indictment (I've only read the indictment and nothing more for now): The indictment is three pages in length. Other than a statement that "one or more" of 3 individuals, including Tom DeLay, entered into an illegal conspiracy, I can't find a single sentence tying Tom DeLay to a crime. That is, there's not a single sentence tying DeLay to the contribution. The indictment describes the alleged conduct of two other individuals, but nothing about DeLay. You would think if Ronnie Earle had even a thin reed of testimony linking DeLay to the contribution, it would have been noted in the indictment to justify the grand jury's action. Moreover, not only is there no information about DeLay committing acts in furtherance of a conspiracy, there's no information about DeLay entering into a conspiracy. I honestly believe that unless there's more, this is an egregious abuse of prosecutorial power. It's a disgrace. I understand that not everything has to be contained in an indictment, but how about something! Posted at 01:58 PM
Is there actually a prosecuted crime tied to this indictment?
Hear, hear. Too many apologists out there for this clown. DeLay hasn't delivered anything save for big government budgets.
Nobody gives a big, fat, hairy rat's rear end about your personal opinion of the man's personality. This thread is about WHETHER OF NOT HE IS GUILTY THE CHARGES IN THIS PARTICULAR INDICTMENT.
You didn't answer as to your political party. It was a valid question and not written in any way that made it appear an attempt at analysis or an accusation. What's the problem?
Sure. And if Ronnie Earle wrongly accused DeLay of a crime he and the county that pays his salary should be sued to oblivion.
This is an argument that many "conservatives" use, and it is just a sneaky way of getting off the fence.
I've seen people who post on this very site suggesting that it's fine if they post on other sites insulting us, namecalling, gossiping, because they aren't insulting us here directly.
It's always those kind who are first to tell the rest of us why we should excuse it.
wow you live in a delusional world. You seriously think that Republicans have never engaged in hardball tactics or political assissination?
(Denny Crane: "Sometimes you can only look for answers from God and failing that... and Fox News".)
Really? Maybe even the MSM is dubious then. If so, that clinches it - there's no merit to the charge. :)
Oh, so now you get to define the conversation and only good members (by your standards) of the party get to make comments?
You aren't that important, pal.
Yep, it's true.
Read this and ENJOY!

In otherwords, you indict Delay and you indict us for daring to defend a politician you dislike.
Your motivations are clear, but your ability to be honest is not.
It may escape your notice, but Earle has been after Delay quite awhile. Some of us have long ago examined the "evidence" and come to the RIGHT conclusion about what is occuring. Your indictment of us & Delay is about as worthwhile as Earle's. Enjoy the company you've chosen.
research bump
I'll give you one last chance to prove yourself.
Give me the name of a Republican that is seeking indictment or has gotten it, right now, against a ranking Democrat without merit. You made the charge they were alike. If so, it should be no problem for you to provide the name right now.
FReepmail me a link to the documents.
There's no excuse for it but what is modern day politics? Vote for my appropriation and I'll vote for yours. Money goes to certain candidates who support certain initiatives but shut off the funds to one that doesn't go along to get along.
What happened to Mike Pence is a damned disgrace and you know who boned him in the shorts? Tom DeLay. Someone had the audacity to remind the republicans that they were supposed to be watching out for the People's best interests and not spending their money. Mr. DeLay wasn't having it.
What DeLay's opponents are doing to him is unprincipled and sleazey but considering how much of a sell out he has become it's rather hard to feel sorry for the man.
Wow "comrade", you need to get back on those meds.
I'm not worried I don't think you get indicted for littering, look, if this is abuse of power by a democratic DA, tom de lay is no fool, he is going to lawyer up and get adequate representation.
The liberal media have been on this story for a long time now. All they really need is an excuse to recycle it again, and this time in a bigger way with the "official" indictment. But this story has never been credible based on the history of the prosecutor alone.
The MSMedia and Democrat politicians are one. They work as a unit.
Some of us are so well known for tending toward sarcasm, we forget that we need to use a tag just in case, anyway. I'll try to remember next time ;-)
