DELAY [Mark R. Levin] Here's my first take on this indictment (I've only read the indictment and nothing more for now): The indictment is three pages in length. Other than a statement that "one or more" of 3 individuals, including Tom DeLay, entered into an illegal conspiracy, I can't find a single sentence tying Tom DeLay to a crime. That is, there's not a single sentence tying DeLay to the contribution. The indictment describes the alleged conduct of two other individuals, but nothing about DeLay. You would think if Ronnie Earle had even a thin reed of testimony linking DeLay to the contribution, it would have been noted in the indictment to justify the grand jury's action. Moreover, not only is there no information about DeLay committing acts in furtherance of a conspiracy, there's no information about DeLay entering into a conspiracy. I honestly believe that unless there's more, this is an egregious abuse of prosecutorial power. It's a disgrace. Just like everybody else on FR, I can't tell anybody if Delay's done anything wrong or not, but it's not unusual at all for a prosecutor to indict someone he or she thinks has information that might help. Standard trick no matter what the affiliation.

DEFINITE abuse of power if all Earle's got on DeLay is in that indictment.
idkfa, every single one of these memos to file is in a proportionally spaced font, probably Palatino or Times New Roman.
In 1972 people used typewriters for this sort of thing, and typewriters used monospaced fonts.
The use of proportionally spaced fonts did not come into common use for office memos until the introduction of laser printers, word processing software, and personal computers. They were not widespread until the mid to late 90's. Before then, you needed typesetting equipment, and that wasn't used for personal memos to file. Even the Wang systems that were dominant in the mid 80's used monospaced fonts.
I am saying these documents are forgeries, run through a copier for 15 generations to make them look old.
This should be pursued aggressively.
If Delay is not living up to our fiscal hopes and dreams, then the solution is for the GOP to replace him in the leadership or for his constituents to vote him out of office.
Indicting him on charges fabricated out of thin air by a deadender Democrat on a mission is disgusting, immoral and unethical.
Any GOPer who applauds this kind of Clintonesque abuse of the rule of law is a RINO of the worst description.
But...... it's the "seriousness of the charge" that counts, right?
So to achieve that aim, you'll happily help ruin an innocent man? REAL conservatives DO NOT believe the ends jusfity the means. Only Democrats and little "l"s do.
One has nothing to do with the other. Earle has been fighting to obtain this indictment for three years. This is the sixth grand jury he has empanelled against DeLay.

Interesting that you assume that his political persuasion affects his judgment. Go to Daily Kos - you'll see a list of others who were indicted by Ronnie Earle, and it is NOT composed only of Republicans.

Not really. Bill Burkett lives in Callahan County in the tiny town of Baird, which is east of Taylor County. Ben Barnes did a hit piece interview changing his original story about Bush not getting any special favor to get in the TANG. He does not live in Taylor County, though he has had business offices there. The Abilene Kinkos was used to fax some Docs. That was the so called Taylor CO connection. Everyone knows the hit on Bush came out of D.C. and Austin. Burkett was a "nobody" stooge.
Ronnie Earle, as a prosecutor in a county with both Democrats and Republicans inhabiting it, has indicted Democrats in the past or else he would be out of a job.
When the candyasses at Daily Kos find out how many Democrats Ronnie Earle has empanelled 6 different grand juries over three years against in order to hunt them down, let us know, OK?
