Time for Karl Rove to use his svengali-like powers to convince the DoJ to investigate Earl for violating DeLay's civil rights.
Well at least he's fighting back. Go git em'!
I agree.
For my part, given Ronnie Earle's track record, I will say the indictment is "partisan until proven accurate".

Hokkay, then, when do we get to indict Governor Blanco for gross negligence, send John Kerry to prison for treason (and strip him of his Senate seat), and about two dozen other Democrats, who shall remain nameless at this time, on RICO charges?
Speaking of Blanco, she must have driven everyone nutty with her small, pecking, cowardly voice such that we got to see all of about 1 minute of her testimony today televised.
Isn't there some provision in the law for dealing with 'malicious prosecution'? It seems to me that might very well be applicable here.
Did you hear that this DA once INDICTED HIMSELF??? Pled guilty...and he's still in office. OUTRAGEOUS.
Absolutely.
Don't know much about Texas politics, but I've read that Austin is an island of "progressives" in a sea of sanity. Assuming that this is true, and assuming that DA's are elected in Texas,it shouldn't come as a surprise that a hack like this can hold office, any more than it should be a shock that a Maoist can be elected Mayor of San Francisco.
When a Democrat is blinded by ideology, he will waste taxpayers' money on fruitless prosecutions over and over again.
Ronnie Earl is, pardon my French, a vindictive little shit.
He has made a career out of indicting and embarrasing his political enemies, Republican and Democrat.
He has not, however, managed to convict any of them.
Most notoriously he had indicted Kay Bailey Hutchinson for abuse of her State office when she first ran for the Senate. The Judge finally ordered him to either present evidence or withdraw the charges and he had to fold.
Some years before that he indicted the State Atty General, Mad Dog Maddox, a rabid, but essentially honest Democrat, who was in a different party faction.
It is a fluke of Texas law that puts prosecution of political corruption at the State level under the aegis of the local DA for Austin.
So9
I'm no lawyer but my guess is that if this clown is ever "put in his place",it will either be done by the voters, the AG of Texas or the Texas Supreme Court.
The liberals are getting too greedy. There's a scandal here, but it lies somewhere in the game of gotcha the left is playing against all top Republicans.
I think Earl decided that since the President's numbers are so low right now, that this is a perfect opportunity to pile on some more. It doesn't matter whether anything comes of this or not.... the perception is out there. I think we all know that if it turns out to be nothing, the coverage of that will be less than .01% of what today's news is on the indictment.
Another thread has CNN saying he will step down. There's no mention of that in the press release.
TX RATS in cahoots with D.C. RATS on a vendetta over TX congressional redistricting that occurred in 2001? I smell Hitlery's long hand in this.
