Time for Karl Rove to use his svengali-like powers to convince the DoJ to investigate Earl for violating DeLay's civil rights.

Ronnie Earl is, pardon my French, a vindictive little shit.
He has made a career out of indicting and embarrasing his political enemies, Republican and Democrat.
He has not, however, managed to convict any of them.

Most notoriously he had indicted Kay Bailey Hutchinson for abuse of her State office when she first ran for the Senate. The Judge finally ordered him to either present evidence or withdraw the charges and he had to fold.

Some years before that he indicted the State Atty General, Mad Dog Maddox, a rabid, but essentially honest Democrat, who was in a different party faction.

It is a fluke of Texas law that puts prosecution of political corruption at the State level under the aegis of the local DA for Austin.

I think Earl decided that since the President's numbers are so low right now, that this is a perfect opportunity to pile on some more. It doesn't matter whether anything comes of this or not.... the perception is out there. I think we all know that if it turns out to be nothing, the coverage of that will be less than .01% of what today's news is on the indictment.

Another point to add to yours: It is the only reason we have a damned democRAT in that office in the first place!
