Was Massive Corruption the reason for holding off Federal assistance?
Vanity | 9/28 | Wil H

There has been much made over the indecisiveness of Lousiana State and New Orleans Municipal governments in the run up to Hurricane Katrina, especially the resistance of the Governor to allow Federal assistance into the state to help with relief and recovery efforts.

Now it is discovered by the FBI that many of the police on the city payroll didn't "not show up for work" but in fact they didn't exist at all! One policeman has commited "suicide" and the Police Chief has already resigned.

How far up the administration did this scandal reach? One person couldn't have been pocketing 450 salaries of non existant police officers, a scheme like this requires widespread collusion.

We also know they couldn't find bus drivers to evacuate the poor, how many of those were ficticious employees? Were people trapped in New Orleans because someone has been ripping off the taxpayers by paying non-existant bus drivers too?

Maybe Blanco and Nagin must have known that they couldn't allow Federal command and control in BEFORE the storm as they would want to direct the deployment of assets that were on the books but didn't exist. Far better to stall until after the disaster when the discrepancies could be covered up by the "fog of chaos".

Did this massive scheme result in many unnecessary deaths caused by a corrupt heirachy that has been short changing the population and failing to provide the services they paid for for years?

Someone needs to shine a bright light on the Municipal finances in New Orleans.

450 police salaries can't just dissappear, let's follow the money.

Don't worry, that's what the media is for.

Here's what I heard.

Hours before New Orleans Police Superintendent Eddie Compass announced his resignation, Tony Snow relayed some hot information he had heard from his Capitol Hill sources. It turns out that the FBI has launched an investigation.

Remember after hurricane Katrina, it became obvious at a large number of the police force had deserted? The estimates were 500 to 700 members of New Orleans finest that failed to show up for duty.

Well the New Orleans police department say it have identified 249 officers who left their posts without permission. These are officers who originally were excused by New Orleans Police Superintendent Eddie Compass, were just going back to help their families.

It turns out that the FBI has launched an investigation to get the list of name of the officers that disappeared, who didn’t show up. Turns out more than 500 names already investigated. The number of five hundred is much higher than the 249 as Eddie Compass suggested. It is more like five or 7 hundred.

Out of the ones have identified, 84 percent, 420 out of 500 already been identified. Guess what? They do not exist. They are phantom employees.

They were ripping off the people of New Orleans. They had fake cops and the money was going to pals of Eddie Compass and or the political establishment. Out of an estimated 1700 believed to be employees, it turns out that number is closer to one 1000.

This probably has something to do with the 2 suicides of police officers.

These officers where reportedly close personal friends of the now-ex Superintendent of Police (Chief of Police) Compass, right?

Story not sufficiently important to be covered by the MSM.

I would say this was exactly the reason. Then, after there was enough time and anger built up, they figured they would bring in the Fed. Now, people are good and angry, blaming the Fed, and they won't believe or care, if the Fed uncovers this recent corruption info.

Did not work however....

Moon Landreiu would be proud. There are a lot of people named Landrieu involved in this aren't there?

Corrupt criminals do not off themselves. They run with the money. Perhaps they had a "little help" with their suicide.

I want to see the mayor before Congress testifying under oath.

The New Tammany Hall

All you gotta do is put in Landrieu, Nagin, and Blanco!

Makes a lot of sense now.

The MSM media was on a jihad against the federal government being feed lots of bogus information about the choas happening in the superdome and city. And this was all so some very corrupt things could attempt to be hidden.

I hope they blow the whole top off this story. The mayor of New Orleans would have to be aware of the 500 fake police employees. How could that go un-noticed day in and day out.
Where is Nagin right now? All I've heard is that he's been hiding out in Texas somewhere.
This could be the tip of the iceberg. Think about how many fireman, public, and government workers could be fake as well. No wonder the evacuations were fubar. Nobody was there to cordinate anything.

Follow the money.

Remeber also Nagin's bizarre comment about needing to send the police on vacation to Vegas?

Now doesn't that just implicate him in this scandal?

Is this the reason that the Brown Grilling started so soon?

Don't forget, there was at least one N.O. cop shot and killed in the Katrina aftermath, along with the two "suicides" . . .

While everyone is down on former FEMA head Brown, I think the hearings should not go too quickly. He may be proven right in ways that we can only surmise at this time. Are they in such a hurry to start the hearings before the investigations are complete? I suspect that they want to finish and conclude that FEMA was the problem before the investigations are truly complete.

Thanks for your comment. Lots of nonsense and untruths have poured out of the New Orleans story. I have not seen one documented news story on the fake-police issue. Not one.

Paranoia here, but this could be a planted story by our enemies, the Democrat party. If not, this is the story of the year. We must crush the corrupt Dems with all our might - they are truly enemies of the Republic.
