And how do you think they would go about proving it? Do you really think anyone checks this stuff until something like Katrina comes along?

"..out of the ~300 flooded school busses, 60 of them were broken down and inoperable. I wonder if they were paying drivers for them?"

Not to mention the mechanics, tires, and the fuel usage.

Have you done any googling for info on a husband? I can't locate anything and couldn't then. Maybe someone else can. There is loads of stuff about her (I assume, not certain - same name, looks like her)charity work with "Concerned Citizens of Agriculture street" and other issues that are focused on the NO black community, specifically.

I think I heard Rush say that WJ commandeered a helicopter and rescued a refrigerator full of cash from his flooded home.

of the 1700 police working for New Orleans, maybe only 1000 really exist.

Huh?

I'm wondering how much of the federal funds allocated for levee improvement were actually spent on the New Orleans levees.

Ghost cops, ghost levees, mega corruption.

People doing the hiring might know. Someone had to generate training records for the ghosts, so someone in that department might know. People doing the firing would know. People doing performance reviews might know. Someone doing the scheduling would know. Union rep might know.

Anyone who might know anything about this is probably afraid to talk. Nagin might not be a drug addict (not likely tho), but from the looks of things you don't get to be mayor of N.O. without having your own personal hit squad.

.."blatantly corrupt at all levels of government...When New Orleans is finished, Chicago should be next on the list."

We needn't stop there. I've heard stories of other states being blatantly corrupt as well. There is enough to go around.

we are now being asked as a country to fork over gargantuan billions of dollars to Louisiana FOR THEIR CONTROL AND DISPENSATION, without so much as a receipt and/or documentation as to how it's spent.

The old corrupt machine will be a child's toy in comparison to the upcoming federally-funded fiasco.

As usual, the tax payers will have to fix the same levees many times.

John, is there grounds for this?

Well no wonder the local response to the hurricane was so bad. Naggin, Compass et al, were all too busy covering their asses.

Murder in Orange walk, teen arrested
This weekend had more than its share of violence and death on the roads. Tonight, Police are still trying to establish a 16 year old's motive in the murder of a man from San Lazaro Village in the Orange Walk District. Police report that on Saturday night the Blanco family was having a party when an uninvited teenager, looking like he'd been drinking, entered their home. When they asked him to leave, the young man pulled out a machete and started to curse them. The family threatened to call the police and finally the youth left. Shortly after, 29 year old Juan Blanco left the house to make sure a cousin got home safely. The young man then attacked Blanco, chopping him several times with his machete before running off. Blanco's wife, Elodia, says about five minutes later; her husband stumbled into the house with wounds to his neck, abdomen and right arm. He told her who had hurt him, but collapsed soon after. Blanco was rushed to the Orange Walk Town Hospital, but he died around 8:00 on Sunday morning. Police have arrested and charged the 16-year-old with murder.

... wondering... were these LEOs "hired" with the Clinton money?

"I put 10,000 newly 'hired' police officers on the street..."

(It all depends on what the meaning of 'hired' is."
