I'm wondering if these non-existent cops are also "registered" voters. Care to take a guess as to what party affilitation?

Yes, and it was the Times-Picayune that was declaring Bush was responsible and Brown should be fired about two days PRIOR TO the arrival of Hurricane Katrina, at least one day, I am certain. They were already holding Bush responsible for whatever and everything storm related and more before the storm even arrived.

And if the PD had phantom employees, you can bet that it wasn't the only department that did...

Louisiana Treasurer on now! Says Luisiana is better than its reputation! HA!

He has asked the governor to issue an executive order to prohibit relatives or companies owned by relatives from getting contracts, hire an outside auditor, and publish requirements for contracts.

I don't trust anyone in the Louisiana government. Period.

So, how does anyone individual report that to "the Fed"? Call the FBI and have them laugh at you? I think there is almost certainly a problem for individuals who encounter crimes perpetrated by locals in office in even reporting the issues.

The Times-Picayune has a lot to answer for. Like why it chose not to report extensively on the rampant corruption in the city and state governments.

Check out more informed speculation about the two cop "suicides" and the one cop murder in the days following Katrina.

But if the officer, and his phantom family, are gone who is left to prosecute? Add to that their home, cars, etc., were washed away, so there are no assets left (bank accounts, what bank accounts, they only made $30,000 a year)...

And they could forget about funding alligator farms and such!

I like alligator farms. Where I live that's agriculture.

Exqueeze me, Mr. Treasurer, that wasn't in place already?!

Everybody remembers that shortly after the passage of Welfare Reform legislation this country was able to cut our welfare rolls in half.

What few people know is that this event coincided with the implementation of new mail forwarding requirements for presort-rate First-Class Mail.

Basically, any large mailer (e.g. a state welfare department mailing welfare checks) had to check USPS records to see if a forwarding order had been submitted by a recipient. There are private sector companies who provide computer based systems to allow this to be done at high speed.

Under an old federal regulation if a welfare recipient changes address, no payment is made until the recipient is seen by a caseworker.

Lo and behold millions of changes of address were found, payments were stopped, and no one showed up to see the caseworkers.

The primary source of welfare fraud was eliminated in one fell swoop!

Congress took credit.

The MSM is so desperate to help their America hating cohorts in congress, they've destroyed their own nest.

Sounds good to me!!!

Federalize the whole darn state. Making Honore Military Governor of the Federal Disctrict of Louisiana. Arrest all crooks. Censure Mary Landrieu and expel her from the Senate!

You see, if Louisiana can make a pie-in-the-sky wish list, I can too!
