All I own for sale on eBay
A DESPERATE man living with his parents is selling everything he owns on eBay so he can make a fresh start.

The vendor, who said he has spent an “insane amount” on electronic gear, wants to auction off ALL his belongings in one lot to clear debts and buy his own home.

Items for sale include a plasma TV, guitar, speakers, cameras, a bed, carpet and even a fishtank.

The seller from Derbyshire, known as simon-steve1981, has had 46,000 hits on his web page.

He tells bidders: “I’ve got into quite a lot of debt. Mad you say? Of course!”

Bidding, which ends on Friday, has already topped £5,000.

Think a wife in England did something like this a while back - sold her husband's car (his pride and joy) on ebay when she caught him cheating. The car was in her name and she sold it as quite a bargain as it had to be a quick sale.

This is probably why...

Reminds me of a similar story I heard from a supermarket clerk. The husband had a silver dollar collection. The wife took it to the supermarket and bought groceries with it.

(Might be an urban legend, but a clerk did tell me the story as if he had made the sale himself.)

that uniform is wrong. those particular indicators of rank (the circles on the collar) and that particular communicator (the pin) were never worn together.

i should have been more specific. that communicator is from star trek: voyager. but that shirt, collar combination was never worn by the crew of voyager. they wore a grey undershirt kind of thing and the rank indicators were attached to that. but i know you guys already knew that.

Bidding ends at over £22,000 (around $38,000).

I wonder if the high bidder will pay up... looks like the most expensive thing he bought on ebay before was a pair of motorcycle boots for £62.

Derby, the place the seller lives, is just down the road from me so no doubt it'll make the local press!

Thanks very much for the update!

I do hope that the seller will collect. I haven't had any serious trouble on eBay but in these highly-publicised auctions you'll get every sort of loon and adolescent coming out of the woodwork to bid on it. Lots of the outrageous bids have already been disqualified as being suspicious, and so hopefully this person won't have any further trouble. If the descriptions in this auction are true, the seller sounds like no more than somebody who is willing to take a major step in setting his life right, and so I certainly wish him the best and hope that others will treat him fairly.

If you would be so kind as to keep us updated via any local press links that you see, it would be greatly appreciated by all I'm sure :-)

Couldn't you see a clone from Bugaha or Crapchester doing this?

Yeah no problem, mate.

By the way, I know you're a bloke but did you know that an attractive woman can be described as 'stoaty' over here in England? Is it the same over in the US?

ROTFLMAO!! I love British slang but I hadn't heard that one before! No, I hadn't heard anything close to that here in the USA....when I visited a Wyoming bar in the 1970's I heard some ladies being referred to as "cute little heifers" but I haven't heard that expression since. I think that here in the USA there is a real shortage of good-naturedness and humor regarding that sort of thing, particularly in the big cities, thanks to the pox of militant feminism that has descended over the land and choked the humor and fun out of so many parts of our culture. If a man were to use a cute expression like that in a work environment, he would not only be instantly fired but would be sued for every dime he has.....he would be guilty of 'hate speech', sexual harrassment and ten other so-called crimes.

If ladies and gents are still able to joke amongst themselves in a good-natured fashion in Great Britain then I will forgive you for the jellied eels and a few other things :-)
