Bidding ends at over £22,000 (around $38,000).

I wonder if the high bidder will pay up... looks like the most expensive thing he bought on ebay before was a pair of motorcycle boots for £62.

Derby, the place the seller lives, is just down the road from me so no doubt it'll make the local press!

Thanks very much for the update!

I do hope that the seller will collect. I haven't had any serious trouble on eBay but in these highly-publicised auctions you'll get every sort of loon and adolescent coming out of the woodwork to bid on it. Lots of the outrageous bids have already been disqualified as being suspicious, and so hopefully this person won't have any further trouble. If the descriptions in this auction are true, the seller sounds like no more than somebody who is willing to take a major step in setting his life right, and so I certainly wish him the best and hope that others will treat him fairly.

If you would be so kind as to keep us updated via any local press links that you see, it would be greatly appreciated by all I'm sure :-)
