Charlie Rangel Forgets, Bull Connor Played For His Team, The DEMOCRATS

Posted on 09/27/2005 7:05:40 PM PDT by Doctor Raoul

Charlie Rangel unfairly used the name that symbolizes hard-line Southern racism against President Bush.

Bull Connor, who used fire hoses and police dogs on the civil rights workers in Birmingham was born a DEMOCRAT and died a DEMOCRAT.

Bull Connor, a full fledged member of the Democrat National Committee (DNC) in 1948 led the segregationist-minded dissidents who walked out of the Democratic national convention in Philadelphia because a civil rights plank was added to the platform.

As a full fledged member of the Democrat National Committee, Bull Connor was not only was a DEMOCRAT, Bull Connor was a DEMOCRAT leader.

Democrats will try and paint their racist Dixiecrats as Republicans, but here is the truth. Every one of the Dixiecrats was born Democrat and died Democrat with one exception. And that exception changed parties over 15 years later.

Another point to observe about yesterday’s racist Democrats and today’s racist Democrats.

In the 1950s, the elected officials standing in the doorway of the good schools, keeping black children in inferior schools, were Democrats.

Today, the elected officials opposing vouchers, symbolically standing in the doorway of a bad schools, keeping black children in inferior schools, are Democrats.

And all these centers of Black poverty in
New Orleans, New York, Miami, Boston,
Phldelphia Cleveland, Detroit, Chicago,
Kansas City, Los Angeles, San Fransisco...

Hiistorically Democrat run States and Demoocrat
run cities...."Bastions" of liberal Progressivism...
The main centers of low wage slave concentration camps
without the barbed wire, but the race pimps surely
are there...makin sure that everybody stays on
the Democrat plantations, and blaming the *republicans
for their Democrat enforced low expectations for
themselves.

That was before Nixon's "Southern Strategy" lured the South to the GOP.

Hey Charlie....Pop quiz:

"Segregation Now, Segregation Tomorrow, Segregation Forever"

Who said it ?
Where did he say ?
When did he say it ?
What was the occasion it was said ?
What was his political party ?

The sad thing is that as long as Rangel and that other rabble-rouser, Conyers, run for office their constituents will dutifully go to the polls and re-elect them. Rangel and Conyers, along with Jackson and Sharpton, have a good thing going. The plantation gate has been unlocked for a long, long time, but those four keep leaning up against the gate, keeping it closed and telling African-Americans to stay on the plantation.

Maybe one day African-Americans will break down the Democrat plantation gate and see that they've been kept in servitude by black Democrat foremen who work for the white Democrat massas. Then Messrs. Rangel, Conyers, Jackson, and Sharpton will be out of a job.

Why the O'Bloviator, Hanity and Colmes give this blatant racist face time to spout his filth is beyond me. I would find it demeaning to share the same O2 with the idiot.

Tonight H & C had another freako racist on to buttress Calypso Louie's garbage.

I think the racist attacks - or at least racially motivated - on Pres Bush over the failure of a predominantly Black populace to elect responsible representatives (or at least take responsibility for themselves) has finally freed some people to see the light.

I'm seeing a lot more clear statements of fact concerning the condition of black America.

It is my personal feeling that accepting the facts of the current situation is the only way progress can be made. And the facts in this case are that Pres Bush and other people outside of LA are not responsbile to have a reasonable plan and execute that plan in LA. The people in LA and New Orleans in particular are responsible for themselves. And they failed.

And the racist attacks have demonstrated that the race pimps have finally jumped the shark.

I believe that there is an intellectual levy that has broken, and the flood is just starting.

Fallacy after fallacy. Today's Trent Lotts, and all other stripes of Republicans, especially those who label themselves as ''social'' vis-a-vis ''fiscal'' conservatives were once Democrats. Their party change came after the Democrats in 1948 refused to support a continued segregation policy in the party platform. It was the Dixiecrats and their third party in 1948 who evolved into today's GOP majority in the Old South in protest to the Truman/FDR Democrats' insistance in social desegregation. It was the Strom Thurmond crowd that walked out of the 1948 Democrat convention to perpetuate segregation of the races who are today's Republicans. It is just as fallacious to use the contrast between Jackson and Lincoln as the corner stone idol of the respective parties.

History is more complex than superfical party labels that are transitory with changes in societial changes.

Why; what are you implying sir that the beloved JFK; patron saint of the left should receive credit for starting "Nixon's war".
How dare you besmirch the name of our fallen president with such unabashed truth telling.

Rangel is just wacked....he has his programed party line he parrots almost automatically without engaging his brain in the process. He believes that since he has been in office as long as he has, that he can say almost anything and people will will just clap and cheer and say "amen" . The really amazing thing is that communities , like his , and many others around this nation , continue to elect this fool to represent them and have a public voice in our nation. Whose fault are people like this then ?

Know-it-all Bill O'Reilly didn't know Connor was a 'Rat either when he gave Wrangle all the time in the world to bloviate and lie on tonight's Factor.

These commentator guys are all so busy selling books for friends and each other they don't have time to do homework for their shows.

If I bought all the books huckstered on tonight's Fox lineup, I'd have to rent space at the Library of Congress.

Man, that story has been making the rounds lately....
Richard Cohen had a recent article making the same claims and Joe Klein will have an article making the same claims in the upcoming issue of TIME.
You must have got a copy of the recent Rat talking points.

Not all States Rights' Democratic Party Dixiecrats became repubs. Most actually went back to being Democrats.

...Thurmond didn't switch until 1964, Helms didn't switch until 1972, and Byrd switched back to Rat.

Blacks used to be solidly Republican up until FDR, yet Repubs weren't the party in power.
No matter how you slice it, the Rats held control of the southern states long before & long after 1948.

Which begs the question, how can the party NOT in power, be responsible for the laws that were considered racist ?

It was Democrats that filibustered, for 83 days, the 1964 civil rights act.
It took Everett Dirksen, to get the thing moving.
Neither party in the south liked the bill. But the democrats only voted 46-22. If it weren't for the Repubs 22-7, it wouldn't have happened then.

Look for Joe Klein's article in TIME.

It will never happen, because they are supported by a large majority of religious leaders who repeat these vicious lies in sermons, bible studies and church functions; and their members believe these clowns.
