Terri Schiavo's parents and siblings are writing a book about their struggle in the epic end-of-life case that divided the country and captured the attention of everyone from the Pope John Paul II to President Bush, their publisher said Tuesday. The yet untitled memoir by parents Bob and Mary Schindler, brother Bobby Schindler and sister Suzanne Vitadamo will be published in March to coincide with the first anniversary of the death of the brain-damaged woman, whose feeding tube was removed after her husband won a court order to do so.
"This book is the moving story of an ordinary family caught up in extraordinary circumstances, and it will set the record straight for the first time," said Jamie Raab, senior vice president and publisher at Warner Books in New York.
The Schindlers' book is likely to compete for space on the shelves with a memoir by Terri Schiavo's husband, Michael, who fought his in-laws in court for eight years to end her life, arguing she would not have wanted to be kept alive in what doctors called a persistent vegetative state. Michael Schiavo said he is collaborating on the book with author Michael Hirsh. The 280-page book is titled "Terri: the Truth," and is planned for release in March by Dutton Publishing.
The Schindlers will donate profits from the book to a foundation they established when they were fighting to save Terri's life, Warner Books said. The foundation now is dedicated to protecting severely disabled people.
The press release announcing the book said Terri Schiavo's parents and siblings "fought simply as a caring family and never the ideological zealots depicted by the mainstream media.
"For the first time ever, they will share their love and sorrow, joy and pain, and some shocking revelations as they honor Terri's life, mourn her death, and finally tell the whole story, the true story, of an innocent woman who met a needlessly premature death."

I mean, michael playing the bully up until Terri's death and then, WHAT A GUY, continuing to play the bully EVEN after her death!
WOW WEEEEEEEE ! SUCH POWER! Enough to make even the smallest of men feel like The man!
It must have been GREAT FUN killing their dtr, watching the police keep them from placing soothing ice chips upon their dtr's parched, cracked lips.
And once she FINALLY died ( the bitch, as he fondly called her front of a nursing home staff) getting to punish the Schindlers MORE by making like he would NOT tell um where he put Terri's ashes.
Ahhhhhhhhhh another solid strike, heaping just a little more pain into the Schindlers' hearts! After all, pretty soon this great guy knew he would not be able to have the great fun a watching these inconvenient parents suffer any longer.

And by golly gee whiz, he could claim he did not want her burial ceremony and place of death to be known because he did not want it to be a MEDIA CIRCUS - as if he was going to have a ceremony anyway! He He! What a punch in the gut to the Schindlers! ( He is SUCH an expert at mocking the Schindler's deep seated Catholic Faith....more fun! What a guy! Bet that felt especially good.
Oh yeah............and FLAGLADY, just WOW....he even had her date of death written incorrectly-make that CARVED onto her tombstone inaccurately.

This wonderful guy put her date of death as the date when he beat her up, of her COLLAPSE!
(After all....she was a 'dead woman, but not walking' to him for 15 long years....besides... he knows this date will allow him to explain to his two bastards, I mean out of wedlock children ( just cause he did not allow TERRI to be wheeled out into the Florida sunshine for 13 years, doesn't mean he has to deny himself some side goodies!), that Terri was really dead way back when.
Therefore it was OK to deny her therapy and all the visitors she could handle cause she was really really already dead and fornicating with your mommy was also ok...cause you see....Terri was really really already dead....just look at the date of her death! And deying Terri small comforts, and big comforts, like therapy, COST MONEY and she was, after all, ALREADY DEAD.
This brave MAN considered his WIFE DEAD from the moment of her collapse....WOW....No wonder he did not spend the money designated for therapy on her....

Trouble is........he forgot the last line!
He forgot have the words inscribed on the tombstone beneath the "I kept my promise"....
"That I made to myself!"
Poor baby, quite an oversight...missed an opportunity to get the wonderful word 'myself' attached to Terri's tombstone to go along with the I he already has inscribed there.
And he missed an opportunity to be honest ( which I am sure bothers him to this day, he so gracious and loving, after all )
One good man.....willing to suffer unemployment, make babies, live off of money he promised a jury he would use to make Terri's life as comfortable as possible, put a DO NOT RESUSITATE order ON TERRI's DOOR WITHIN SIX MONTHS OF GETTING THE BIG LAWSUIT WINDFALL, and proceeded to work to get her killed FROM THEN ON!>

You know, one day you are going to stroke out by working yourself up into such a lather over this subject. You really need to fixate on something else for a while. I'm concerned about your health. Terri is dead. It's over. Try relaxing just a bit. It will be good for you. Have you considered seeing a shrink?

What other Terris will follow? Florida is a death hole and some people apparently like it that way.
I'd be thrilled to see the Schindlers retire on a yacht from this book... because it would mean that the book's message saturated America.

You hit on the point that I was trying to make.
Sloppy reporting which existed from day one!
It is a forgone conclusion as to which is the truthful one. At least, that is, if Micheal Schiavo, the murderer, has capable legal advice.
You're sick. Most of the nation doesn't know the whole story, including the abandonment by the "husband", the bogus-ness of the "wishes of Terri", and that the family just wanted to care for their daughter without the creep in the picture.
The only way that family gets anything near closure for the hell they went through for the crime of loving their daughter is to get the story out there, and maybe help others who need to respond to such a horrible situation.
But you sprinkled in just the minimal amount of weasel words to stay legit, perhaps.
In any case setting up such a foundation with the author (or co-authors) on the board is common practise. It's the best way of getting the charity to the appropriate organizations. The Schindler's understand the specific situation they describe in the book, and also the more general situation of loving long-term care versus the death-mongers.
And running such a charity to distribute funds to appropriate places in appropriate amounts and times takes a whole lot of work.
For example we, the US, can't just THROW money at Louisiana and New Orleans -- because given unwisely, it goes to bad effect.

I don't care about Micahel Schiavo because he's irrelevant to the topic at hand. The topic is: The Schindlers are cashing in on their daughter's death, yes or no? So it's not an acceptable response to point out what Michael Schiavo. Sheesh.
You know, I tried this tactic once when I was pulled over for speeding. The officer asked me if I was aware that I was going 75 MPH and I responded "Well there were other people on the road going faster!" I still got the ticket.
