Terri Schiavo's parents and siblings are writing a book about their struggle in the epic end-of-life case that divided the country and captured the attention of everyone from the Pope John Paul II to President Bush, their publisher said Tuesday. The yet untitled memoir by parents Bob and Mary Schindler, brother Bobby Schindler and sister Suzanne Vitadamo will be published in March to coincide with the first anniversary of the death of the brain-damaged woman, whose feeding tube was removed after her husband won a court order to do so.
"This book is the moving story of an ordinary family caught up in extraordinary circumstances, and it will set the record straight for the first time," said Jamie Raab, senior vice president and publisher at Warner Books in New York.
The Schindlers' book is likely to compete for space on the shelves with a memoir by Terri Schiavo's husband, Michael, who fought his in-laws in court for eight years to end her life, arguing she would not have wanted to be kept alive in what doctors called a persistent vegetative state. Michael Schiavo said he is collaborating on the book with author Michael Hirsh. The 280-page book is titled "Terri: the Truth," and is planned for release in March by Dutton Publishing.
The Schindlers will donate profits from the book to a foundation they established when they were fighting to save Terri's life, Warner Books said. The foundation now is dedicated to protecting severely disabled people.
The press release announcing the book said Terri Schiavo's parents and siblings "fought simply as a caring family and never the ideological zealots depicted by the mainstream media.
"For the first time ever, they will share their love and sorrow, joy and pain, and some shocking revelations as they honor Terri's life, mourn her death, and finally tell the whole story, the true story, of an innocent woman who met a needlessly premature death."

What kind of veiled little threat is that? I'll say, the oh so good-hearted Schlinders are suddenly in it for the money. Not that anyone with any sense didn't see this coming from a mile away. Hell, I'll make it real clear for you: They're not only greedy, they're liars. They carefully edited video tapes of Terri to their own ends. Knowing full well that they were lying through their teeth, they fooled good men like Frist, and recruited a bunch of liars to further build their charade. Ask the Dr. who did the autopsy if Terri was capable of saying, "Iiiiiiiii waaaaaaaant toooooooo liiiiiiiiiive."
There, feed that to every libel attorney you can find. I won't be losing a wink of sleep.

I just love it when people throw out that silly accusation. The videos proved Terri was alive. Her family didn't film her corpse and then edit the film to make her appear alive. Sheesh!

Now that's a real conversation starter. That's what I say to all I encounter for openers. "You believe in murder". Minor contradiction in your sentences above. First line: wanna talk; Second line: nothing more to say. When you get it figured out, well, you probably won't. Maybe you'd be less confused if you got a screen name.

The only people to become wealthy off of Terri's back was Michael, to the tune of a several million dollars.
All the money from Michael's book will go into Michael's bank account. Unlike Terri's family he is not donating all profits to a worthy cause or charity. Did you accuse him of the same????

Don't you know that Scientology is bad for you? How could you both be Terri supporters and at the same time be Scientologists. Isn't this a contradiction? Do the others on this thread know you are a Scientologist, you and that other one, the one with no name. Do you live in Clearwater?
I think people are trying to make themselves feel good for advocating the slow death of a human being. So they lash out at the family. No matter what people on this sight and any were else say it is wrong to make someone suffer for 14 days with no food or water.

It's ridiculous to say Terri's supporters are being had. They've been told where the profits are going before they purchase the book. And the 20 or 30 dollars of the price of the book is hardly being "had."
Frankly, I wish they would keep all the proceeds for themselves and stick them in their own bank accounts after all they've been through. It won't even come close to what they should be able (but won't be able) to recover in a civil suit. I'd be certain to be one of the first to stand in line to buy the book in that event.

Several million, you say. Didn't know you knew Michael that well to know this. Is he a good friend of yours? Is there something we don't know? Maybe you're a plant. Are you getting a cut of Michael's millions?
