Hearings beginning now on C-Span- Michael Brown will be grilled.
Have at it, folks:)

SCROLL DOWN - C-SPAN (1) or C-SPAN Radio
I'm sure Tony Snow will follow up to see how many of those non-existent police officers were on the voting rolls. Good question.
I agree with you that no one was here in Hancock County from reports that I've gotten [And not one have blamed anyone but themselves for remaining here and not evacuating.] where Gene Taylor also lives although I had enough sense to evacuate my family before Katrina hit. There was a MANDATORY EVACATION order so whoever stayed had the personal responsibility to have provided for themselves and not look to the govenment. I lost two waterfront homes...one under-insured and the other un-insured...I gambled and lost...I will rebuild one and thankfully I still have the lots left on the other...I won't blame others and cry over spilt milk...For the record...I commend the work that FEMA has done here as well as the Red Cross, Salvation Army and others.
BTW: I like Gene Taylor but have never voted for a democrat in my life and won't.
Oh cool!
Peach, is the hearings still going on? I had to leave this morning and since I got back I don't see them on C-Span online.
they would have to be supoenaed, they will not come willingly. i am not sure what the history is of congress compelling testimony from governors and mayors.
Thanks. C-Span carrying the hearing on television again.
Brown: Marty communicated to me, I don't remember the day, that the FEMA team were going to self evacuate because they felt threatened (in the Dome) and were going to go back to Baton Rouge.
Thornberry: Who else in a position of responsibility was at the Dome.
Brown: I don't recall who they told me was in charge. I had a general impression that the NG was there and the mayor was there.
Hearing is on television; someone posted a thread up thread on this page with a link to the radio coverage, although when I tried to find it I was unsuccessful but that';s perhaps user error.
Is on CSPAN-1 on cable/satelite now.
Thornberry: Once the levees failed, is it your impression that more people showed up at the Dome than had weathered the initial storm and did you get those reports.
Brown: Yes. I got a spot report from Marty that water was rising in NO and more poeple were showing up and it (Dome)was becoming overcrowded.
If C-SPAN cuts away again, C-SPAN Radio should still be covering the hearing.
CSPAN has a contract to carry all house sessions.
Thornberry: Need to have buses to get people out. What about plans and preparations to gte them out of shelter and the storm had p assed and that was possible.
Brown: I don't know if it had gotten to the stage of contracting, but they had a plan to get people out. That plan completely broke down. When downtown NO flooded, that plan went by the wayside.
Yeah...the HATED Wal-Mart (but not by me, FTR...) By the way, the Female Parental Unit (Democrat-California) beefs from time to time about Wal-Mart's alleged sins...but has NO PROBLEM shopping there... hmmmm
MSM blackout?
Brown is going for the Jugular so the MSM is censoring his statements.
Thanks! I sure hope they don't cut it again.
CSPAN has 3 channels. They can carry it on AT LEAST one.
