I'm sure glad Taylor didn't switch over to the GOP. What a lying, drama queening ($3 gas BEFORE the storm?) POS.

Oh! You mean the guy who was so indignant and nasty to Brown was the one who went to his own house?

Yes, so they can put gas in the cars they don't have, to drive on roads that are impassable, to go to find friends they don't have in other states.

If these people DO have cars, they are probably old cars and pickup trucks, so 5 gallons of gas won't get them more than 60 miles away.

Taylor: A 20 dollar tank of gasoline is cheaper than $80 worth of MRE's.

Ridiculous, for a number of reasons.

1. What good is a $20 tank of gas going to do when your car (if you even have a car) is under 3 feet of flood water?

2. It is not the job of George W. Bush to keep your gas tank off E.

3. If Taylor is paying $80 for a case of MREs, he's getting ripped off. You can get them on the Net for less than $60.

NONE of these politicos want to take responsibility for their own area/state. It's shameful.

Socialism on the march.

Brown: The states have national guard troops available to them and I've never had a governor tell me they couldn't get national guardsmen help them.

Taylor: Your local FEMA rep didn't distribute national guardmen well because they sat around when they could have been delivering food.

How about SAT phones? Doesn't everybody need one of those, too?

I tell you, we are heading toward the federal government handling ALL of this and I am NOT happy about it. Not one bit.

Does anyone have the timeline for what really happened and when?

You have to narrow the request. The timeline has many branches.

if you don't go on offense right out of the gate, the media fills the vacuum with their version of events, and that's what sticks in most people's mind. add to that the "I take the blame" speech by Bush - and we are SOL now. we aren't going to be able to turn this around 4 weeks later by getting the facts out - most americans aren't listening. we may be listening here, and on talk radio - but we already knew this story, its not news to us. but for the sheeple, this is going right over their heads.

you will never be able to shake the "Federal government slow in responding to Katrina" talking point from the mind of most americans.
