Over the Weekend President George W Bush concluded a 3 day visit to various Command Centres relating to Hurricane Katrina and Rita returning to the White House Sunday afternoon.

Vice President Dick Cheney was admitted to the hospital for the elective surgery on his knees. It was announced after doing both knees (originally only one was to be done but surgery went so smoothly it was decided to do the other) that he might be in hopital for up to 48 hours, in fact he was only in for 27 hours and walked without any assistance to his limo early Sunday morning.

Today President Bush attended briefings with Interior Secretary Gale Norton and Energy Secretary Samuel Bodman and also delivers a Statement at the Department of Energy in Washington

Today it was expected that the Vice President would continue his recovery from his Saturday's surgery by working from home.

Today Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice had private meetings at the State Department with East Timor Prime Minister Mari Bin Amude Alkatiri, Malaysia's Minister of Foreign Affairs Syed Hamid bin Syed Jaafar Albar and Brazil's Minister of Foreign Affairs Celso Amorim

Enjoy your visit to Sanity Island

My favorite foods after GI flu or food poisoning are in order of use -- Pedialyte diluted with ice chips, cranraspberry drink diluted with ice chips, saltine crackers, chicken broth, lime sherbet, applesauce, dry white toast,Top Ramen, ripe banana, chicken or turkey noodle soup, nonfat milk...

Sometimes I get better faster and can skip ahead in the list.

I got food infection twice while I was at my Mom's. Due to my congenital immune deficiency, taking my Mom out to eat or eating in her dining hall is very risky for me.

That woman is a tool. Sheesh. All I can say is that he is certainly a patient man.

To me it is so obvious that he did not panic, but gathered his thoughts, prayed, then reacted maturely.

Could you imagine what would have been said about him had he broken out in panic and scared everyone around him?

Never in my life have I seen a man so persecuted...he is the epitome of darned if you do, darned if you don't.

Hi Judy

An answer to your co-worker,
As to seven min. to respond to planes into WTC.
Clinton did not even have a response nor did he go to
New York when the World Trade Center was bombed in 1993
by the same people and embolden them to continue their
terror attacks throughout the 1990s

The pictures could be the reason for the odd remarks.

just don't pay these people any mind. you know what you like.

Next time they make a remark or ask you a stupid question just say yeah, do you have a problem with that?

I bet that'll shut them up.

I sent snugs some pictures I have in a old file.

Snugs, are you able to post them for JudyinCanada to see so she can add more to her collection?

Apple juice diluted with ice is good, too.

I think the main accusation is that he is not capable of thinking quickly on his feet.

I agree with you though he did not want to upset the children especially before it was totally confirmed what was going on. The bottom line also was that whatever had happened, was happening there was nothing he could do about it precisely at that moment. Also he knew without even having to check or ask that the Vice President was dealing with the immediate situation and as soon as he got out of the class room he could monitor more closely any future happenings.

IMHO I think this is a good example of the Katrina situation with 9/11 he knew he had capable people minding the store and with Katrina he assumed that they also had capable people locally but unfortunately for the Louisiana people Blanco and Nagin and are no Cheney, Rumsfeld or Rice.

Patti, You are a sweatheart, but I would rather puke before eating half of those items, and I don't even know what "Pedialite" and "Top Ramen" is :-)

Speaking of CONDI....Couldn't help to wonder what this gentleman was thinking as he left her presence....

On the other hand maybe we shouldn't know.....

Thanks SoCal...

My co-worker (along with 99% of this brainless province) sounds like a broken record. I avoid these discussions if I can. Thank you, though, I had indeed forgotten about that courageous hero of the left, WJC. Also, forgot about Captain Dork sitting stunned for 45 minutes.

Sometimes it's just best to shake your head at them and sigh.

I would simply ask him what he expected the President to do in those seven minutes.

If you have ever had a boss who micromanages everything, you can appreciate the fact that he stayed out of the way and let first responders get their jobs done.

It reminds me of the despair.com poster that reads:

Cluelessness. There are no stupid questions, but there are a lot of inquisitive idiots.

That's why I gave you a list, so you could choose something.

You don't like unsweetened applesauce?

Top Ramen is Chinese noodles that come dry in a package. You boil them in water for about 5 minutes and add some of the flavoring package.

I have delt with several of the same and their answer is,
Bush had explosives set off at the WTC and no plane
went into the pentagon
At the anti war rally Sat. here we saw tens of dozens
of signs that Bush had 9/11 staged to start a war, etc.
Many of these people look like folks you would see at
a GOP gathering, not all magot looking.
This is what we are dealing with.
