This weekend, students at Brandeis University in Massachusetts are learning the ABCs of political organizing at the new "Campus Camp Wellstone."
Actors at the Great American History Theater in St. Paul are rehearsing "Wellstone," a three-person play based on the life of the late U.S. senator from Minnesota.
Construction workers are pouring sidewalks at the nearly-finished Paul and Sheila Wellstone Center for Community Building in St. Paul.
And today, a month shy of the third anniversary of the couple's death, the Wellstone Memorial and Historic Site will be dedicated in Eveleth, Minn., near the field where the senator's plane crashed, killing all seven aboard.
Nearly three years after his death, Paul Wellstone's legacy shows no sign of diminishing. Two books about the senator were published this month alone. Wellstone Action!, a liberal political training center based in St. Paul, boasts 8,500 alumni across the country and now is adding "advanced placement" classes.
And at least a dozen buildings are named after Wellstone and/or his wife, Sheila, including schools, a housing complex and a battered women's center.

He promised during his first run as well. If you want to drive a leftie nuts, mention that if he had kept his word, he'd still be alive today.

As people said at the time, "Democrats ... Putting the 'Fun' back in 'Funeral'"
I tell the story because Minnesota is home to a breed of leftists who are far better educated, indoctrinated, monied, and dedicated than found elsewhere in the upper Midwest. Beware of them.
Your observation about Minnesota leftists is dead on accurate. Sometimes when talking to them it seems as though they are living in Massachusetts. Believe me, we conservatievs in Minnesota really have to work our butts off to get am Republicans elected statewide and nationwide. I hope we can pick up Mark Dayton's US Senate seat next November!
You are correct. I live in southwest Minneapolis.
It's home to the last refuge of Republicans left in the city and it's also home to droves of guilty white liberals who'd probably be scared sh**less of a black guy if they ran into him on the street.
I've spent a lot of campaign time in this area and I've seen every possible kind of leftist drivel ranging from bumper stickers to lawn signs (remember the Wellstone signs "Stand Up-Keep Fighting") and it still bothers me - but it doesn't stop me.
Best of luck to both of your efforts.
LOL!
Good job! Bound to get some play at the left-wing blogs.
Yep, you got it. Even the left were offended. It showed the dem/lib/lefties for who they truly are. Selfish, self centered power hungry freaks! We had more respect for the death of Wellstone than they did and we didn't even care for Wellstone. Yep, they all showed their butts and they seem to be dooing the same right now.
Maybe some folks don't recall that he was a great veterans' advocate. This synopsis is how I choose to remember Senator Wellstone. He helped countless veterans.
"Dead Friends by James Glaser
October 30, 2002
I had a good friend die this weekend. Senator Paul Wellstone, while not a close personal friend, was a very good friend to all Veterans. Senator Wellstone made Veteran Health Care an integral part of his entire Senate career. Senator Wellstone was not out to help just Minnesota Veterans, but every veteran that has served America.
*snip*
Many people always thought of Senator Wellstone as anti-war and he was, but he certainly was not anti-veteran. Over the years more and more veterans learned just how hard this anti-war Senator fought for them. Constantly Wellstone was badgering those supposed military hawks in Washington, to give Veterans what was due to them.
It came slow, but Veteran groups started to respect this Senator from Minnesota. In 1995, both the Vietnam Veterans of America and the Minnesota Paralyzed Veterans of America honored Senator Wellstone. The VVA gave Wellstone the "Legislator of the Year" Award and he told me that he was very proud of that.
Later on Senator Wellstone received Awards from the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans, American Ex-P.O.W.s, Amvets, Military Order of the Purple Heart, National Coalition for Homeless Veterans, and the Forgotten 216th.
Not one of these organizations gives out their award lightly and to give such awards as these, to a man openly and actively seeking to stop war, made these awards all the more special. Veterans like to honor veterans, Senator Wellstone was not a Veteran and fought hard to stop the Vietnam War. These organizations came to see that even though they disagreed with Wellstone on the value of war, they both agreed on the value of the service rendered to our nation by veterans and both agreed on the Nation's debt, owed to these men and women."

Folks, the first temptation is to roll your eyes and make gagging sounds while (or after) reading this article. I did.
MplsSteve, I must admit, I did the very same eye roll, when you posted two VERY similar articles within a few moments!

And again, the point of your posts is what...?
I was so happy Mondale lost to Coleman all because of Dem Hubris related to that funeral.
I agree that they are organizing and we may have some setbacks in 06, just listen to the people on this site. A lot are going to stay home or vote for a third party
Sorry to post this - but if you don't understand, don't blame ME!
Educate yourself, MplsSteve.
