Can't you understnad, that Wellstone did good for veterans, not only in MN, but all over the USA?
Folks bash Wellstone.
I get it.
HE was a hero to many VN veterans!

Learn some more.
MplsSteve, I must admit, I did the very same eye roll, when you posted two VERY similar articles within a few moments!
LOL! Wanker!
I'm not much for his politics, but he was a good man and as honest a pol as I've ever heard of.
"And again, the point of your posts has been what...?
Gawd, what a flashback that gave me.
Fine - you want to bump the thread some more? Good, then. Some will learn more. And not from you.
Grow up, whiner kitty!!

Two years ago, I went back to the Univ of Minnesota after a 12-year absence.
I took a class called the History of Cuba and Puerto Rico. The class was taught by a grad student whose views (on just about everything) were extremely liberal. She prided herself on her many trips to Cuba, all taken by getting "journalist" credentials through a low-watt community radiop station in Minneapolis.
I was amazed. No talk of Castro's jailings or executions of dissidents. No talk of how we tried to foment guerilla wars across the globe. No talk of the internal repression that goes on in Cuba in a daily basis.
On occasion, I would openly question her in class and this would result in other students/fellow-travellers giving me looks that ranged from incredulousness to hostility.
I had to write a paper about Cuba's involvement in Angola in the 1970's and 80's. I backed up all my research as thoroughly as I could. I aimed for as thoroughly a non-biased paper as possible. But my sources of info took me in another direction - that of being anti-Cuba.
Needless to say, when I finished, I dropped a bombshell on the class that had the grad student sitting in the front row with her mouth hanging open!
I got an A for both my paper and presentation. The paper was scribbled with lots of red ink, the grad student writing that my sources were questionable at best. I guess this was the best she could do to refute what I had said. "
MEOW!!!
Good grief, grow up.
"Wellstone did right by a friend of mine, a veteran who wasn't getting the help he needed from the VA. I'm not much for his politics, but I remember the difference he made in Rudy's life."
That is what I meant - Zeroisanumber.
It irritates me no end, when folks don't know how nuch of an advocate Senator Wellstone was!
Sit back, relax, and enjoy the fruitless endeavors they strive for while spending their money to achieve their goals.
Riiiiiight, guilt is a most persuasive political agenda. ROTFLMAO!
