Sen. Clinton Opposes Museum at WTC Site

NEW YORK - Sen. Hillary Clinton is opposing a freedom museum planned for ground zero, citing concerns raised by the families of the World Trade Center victims who say the proposed museum would dishonor the dead.

The International Freedom Center last week released a report saying the museum "will tangibly link Sept. 11 and the lives of its victims to humanity's greatest idea: freedom."

In addition to the terrorist attacks, its exhibits would deal with events such as the fall of the Berlin Wall, efforts such as the Civil Rights Movement, and documents such as the Declaration of Independence and the South African constitution.

But relatives of some of the Sept. 11 victims say it would over shadow a memorial museum and dishonor the 2,749 people who died there by fostering debate about the attacks.

"I am troubled by the serious concerns that family members and first responders have expressed to me," Clinton said Friday. "I cannot support the IFC."

Clinton said she does not think plans should move forward until the rebuilding agency, Lower Manhattan Development Corp., addresses the families' concerns.

LMDC spokesman John Gallagher said the agency is reconsidering the museum's place at the site and will gather public comment before making a decision.

Hllary never never link my family or any American family with freedom. I mean what the hell will the rest of the world think? We mean buisness or we will kick the living crap out of you? Why havn't we just straight up killed all of your sons and left you to rot in the sun? Because it is called freedom and if you don't understand it we will let your country fall into another worthless dicatorship then.....Boom. So shut the hell up and deal with it. Next thing you know you are decorative shadows on a brick wall.

Insert Clymers in place of climate. :)

In this handout photo, U.S. Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-NY) (L) and retired Gen. Wesley Clark smile as they're introduced as panel members to speak on 'Climate', one of the many forums taking place during the Clinton Global Initiative Summit, Friday, September 16, 2005 in New York City. The meetings, which run from September 15 through 17, is an initiative led by Clinton to address poverty, climate change and other worldwide issues and will draw political leaders and activists from all over the world. I didn't realize that Oprah was one of their pals. That's a powerful ally.

Hillary shrewdly fakes to the center, while Republican officials (Pataki, Bloomberg) cower.

Should't read too much into this story......I posted an earlier article which clearly indicated how Hitlery is leaving the door open for a possible reversal.

I never thought I would say this but...Good going, Hillary!

Please take time to go to the Take Back the Memorial website and sign the petition. They have email links for others that have a say so send a few emails and let them know you want a memorial NOT a controversial museum.

"I never thought I would say this but...Good going, Hillary!"

Don't be too quick to shower her with praise on this. All she is doing is putting her finger in the air to see which way the wind is blowing.

There are polls that show the American people are opposed to this in the 90% plus range.

She's just acting like the moo-slimes here when they are not a majority. In those situations they are supposed to camouflage their true feelings in an attempt to appear mainstream, and only dissent and fight when they have a chance at victory.

Hill is coopting 9/11 as NY's 'tragedy' and thus 'her' concern. So she will take a lofty and patronizing view of what should be done. Using 9/11 for her own purposes, i.e. getting to the WH.
