"More than half of the Hurricane Katrina evacuees airlifted into South Carolina have criminal backgrounds, with convictions ranging from petty theft to rape," authorities said."What we don't know about are(evacuees)who have come into the state on their own or who had some church or civic group bring them in" said SLED Chief Robert Stewart.

"Most Airlifted Evacuees Have Criminal Record"
I could have told you that without reading any article. Who do you think live sin NO anyway ?
In that sense, yes. Bloomberg switched parties because he could not win a Democratic primary; Nagin switched parties because he could not win without a (D) after his name. In New Orleans though, party doesn't really matter. It's just a network of corruption and what face the put in front of running the city into the ground. Corruption has been a hereditary privilege in New Orleans for two hundred years... I am somewhat hopeful that the sudden imposition of federal oversight will cleanse the cesspool. Perhaps the new citizenry won't be nearly as manipulated and exploitable as the previous denizens.
Yes, looks like it is time for some new blood in LA.
I thought they spent most of the year working on their floats!
That's true of most southern towns and cities.
hehe .. I figured someone might say something like that! I'm obviously talking about the hereditary elite of the city, that the krewes are based upon. The krewes themselves are mostly about getting drunk and dancing around mostly nekkid..
In a sense, but Louisiana takes corruption to a whole 'nother level. Only New Jersey can compete..
The criminals from New Orleans won't find the police forces of their new 'homes' quite as malleable as the New Orleans police force was. It may be the last thing many of them learn.
*snicker* One of my favorite movies!
Maybe that was the plan all along. Amazing that somebody could put together such a plan without Karl Rove, but it could happen.
LOL...though Cage's accent was laughable (as was the mere idea of him being an ex-Ranger!)
New Orleans will become New-and-Improved Orleans! (Now that they've shipped out a good chunk of the criminal element.)
