It's amazing, a storm that big and so many didn't even see a drop of rain!

Thanks for calling. St. Elizabeth's has set up a phone line for patient information 409-892-8181 and the main number to the hospital is 409-892-7171 for anyone who may also need it.

They also have a webpage to search for patient information
http://rita.christushealth.org/default.aspx

Thank you so much for the help...I'm sure she is ok and has been admitted to a hospital somewhere. I just want to be able to tell my father-in-law where she is at.

Raleigh did receive St. Elizabeth's patients and they were sent to a few of their hospitals. I've tried Duke, Hollyhill (they are citing HIPPA laws and refusing to tell anyone if a patient has been admitted), Wake, Rex and Duke Raleigh.

I'm positive their are more hospitals in the Raleigh area that I've missed that may have received patients.

Thanks for the help....you guys are great!!

Just tried all the numbers on this list but didn't have any luck.

My husband is positive she is in a 5 bed hospital somewhere in North Dakota (he's trying to keep a sense of humor about this).

I'm heading off to church and will start my search again when I get home.

Thanks for all the help and numbers - you all are great!!!

Glad it missed us, prayers for those it did not.

Amen.

Our area of Sugar Land didn't get enough rain to get the sidewalk wet. Not that I'm complaining.

Willie Green is back home.
Actually, we didn't want to fight the traffic, so my one brother and I just buttoned up our own homes and went to my other brother's home (all here in Cypress) to hunker down. We didn't have to hunker much. All we got was a lotta wind and a little bit of rain. No damage to anybody's properties, just sweep up fallen leaves, pine needles, twigs (too small to call them "branches") etc. I could've been back home yesterday morning instead of today, but we all stayed at my brother's to watch football on the TV. The electricity flickered a little Friday night, but nobody lost power (although nearby neighborhoods did.)

Family members who evacuated Wednesday night to Lake Charles wound-up in somebody's home south of Shreveport. (Mom, nephew, niece, sister-in-law, sister-in-law's folks and family). They're all OK, but got the worst of the wind and rain. Not sure yet when Mom and sister-in-law are coming home. Needless to say, they're all concerned about sister-in-law's family's properties in Lake Charles.

Sounds like your family had an adventure they'll be talking about for years!

I hope your SIL's family home escaped damage. They were showing pictures of Lake Charles this morning some things were completely wiped out and some were untouched. Let us know how they fared as soon as you hear Willie.

Checking back in.
We never lost power, the worst it got was brown-outs early Saturday and lost our DSL for most of yesterday (big deal). This is a miracle; I'm so very thankful to come out of this with no damage.

Probably not today. I'm going as soon a I know there is power and gasoline.

I do have one spot of bad news to report:

My buddy down the street whipped me at chess last night.

I was afraid you were going to run into HIPPA problems. That's why I recommended talking with Director of Nurses. Another thing you can do is not ask if she is there but ask to be transfered to MRs.xxxxxxx's room.

Thankfully, there's not much to tell except to say that we had a nice hurricane party Friday evening sitting outside with our neighbors. Then yesterday, we all laughed at ourselves for over-preparing. We are blessed.

Willie, glad you made it okay. I knew you should be okay as my daugther lives up in the Spring area and they didn't have any damage. Everything was east of the Houston area.

For some LA info and especially the Lake Charles area nose around the links in the following article. Especially the Lake Charles link in the posted article, the MSNBC link, and few of the others have some photos to show what that area experienced. Needless to say it wasn't good.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1490933/posts

The media isn't showing this maybe because it is a smaller more rural area, I don't know. I got an email yesterday from a friend down SE La way and their is major flooding down there and it's not getting any coverage. NO is still the MSM focal point.

Anyway take care. I got a huge oak across my house and haven't been allowed in yet to see what I'm going to have to deal with. But tomorrow I'm going to find a way in if I can get back to the area.
