I was in contact with the organizer of this event, Johns Hopkins Univ. College Republican president Jared Ede. He has been working on getting this rally stop organized since earlier this week. The local American Legion folks are also planning to turn people out for this event as well.

Well, we have folks on campus stepping up to the plate to get the other side of the story, in this case supporting our military and their mission, out to the students of Johns Hopkins. When I spoke to College Republican president Jared Ede earlier today he mentioned that the Cindy Sheehan blame America / hate our military bus tour was on campus earlier this week.

Kudos to Jared for taking this on!

anyone know if the light rail is still closed coming in from Timonium?

From the Maryland Transit Authority website:
http://www.mtamaryland.com/services/lightrail/schedule/

"Construction began Monday, January 3, 2005 between North Ave. and Hunt Valley as the Double Track Project moved into its Final Phase. It is expected that Light Rail will open to Timonium in October and all the way to Hunt Valley in January 2006. "

Timonium alternative from their site:
"Timonium Road Stop: at the Light Rail stop. This stop will be served by both Route ‘B’ express shuttle buses and Route ‘C’ regular service. Express shuttles will run Monday through Friday from approximately 6 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and from approximately 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., operating approximately every 15-minutes. Route ‘C’ shuttle service will run Monday through Saturday from approximately 5 a.m. to midnight and Sunday from approximately 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., operating approximately every 30-minutes. Passengers can also board the No. 8 bus at the park & ride lot."

Saturday morning bump

Handicap parking close to Levering Hall. Regular parking is a bit of a walk from Wyman Park Drive.

Saturday evening on campus with enthusiastic young conservatives is a pleasant way to spend an hour.
