Hurricane Rita Live Thread, Part VI
NHC - NOAA ^ | 23 September 2005 | NHC - NOAA

Posted on 09/23/2005 9:39:06 AM PDT by NautiNurse

Dangerous Hurricane Rita is expected to make landfall in the northeast Gulf of Mexico within 24 hours. Tornados have spawned in Louisiana. Water is filling the Ninth Ward of New Orleans again. A bus carrying elderly evacuees was gutted by fire this morning outside Dallas, with multiple fatalities. Television crews have positioned their hurricane reporters throughout the region to attain maximum drama effects. Whoooooa.

Grilled lamb chops,

Can we do a little food talk on the thread? Because all I have ever been able to do with lamb is a roast leg. Low and slow for hours.

God be with all my fellow Texans on the coastal area. God's covering and protection from the wind and rain. May he be Merciful and kind in our time of fear and despair. AND the Lord said to the storm...PEACE BE STILL!

Amen.

Hey Jerry and Shep; if TWC bailed out of town (Cantore Jr is on the highest point of Beaumont), you better get out NOW (re, on second thought,....)

"Why, if he's like he was in NO, Anderson "Sissy Boy" Cooper will have to have a valium drip."

LOL

Yeah, there is that, but we know Anderson is light in the loafers. I just get the creeps when Jerry and Shep start acting all teary and that. Makes me want to hand them a shot of bourbon and tell them to buck up for s**** sake.

I'm not sure I'd want to be in Port Arthur. He lucked out with Katrina, but he better have a solid structure to get into. Anderson Cooper was hanging out on the river in Beaumont, not to good either... probably will be big flooding pretty far inland from surge pushing into the basins.

Rita is now top keyword not Katrina.

How do you track that?

Why do they need both Shep and whorealdo in Port Arthur???

Maybe FoxNews only has 4 remote production crews/trucks. 1 in Galveston, 1 with Greta vanClam, 1 with Martha McCallum, and 1 in Port Arthur. Can't put Geraldo with any other than Shemp's.

when you grill lamb and veal - use indirect heat. don't put it directly over a burner that is turned to full.

I'm really getting sick of these guys (and I supposed they have them from all the cable networks, too) being out there doing their 'see how brave I am' act. Why should people obey the evacuation orders when they see these guys/gals facing the wind and rain and survive. I'm sure they have their back-up place to go, but still the image of them is not a positive one.

During Katrina, who was it who kept yelling "OOOOH --- OOOOH! while he was bent over double? He finally left when something flew by a yard from him. He was able to see stuff coming his way, but what about the camera man who has to keep his face in his camera? Not good.

O'Reilly just said they are now reconnected with Geraldo WHO IS RIGHT IN THE PATH OF THIS. I guess we have to witness emoting at its highest. {{{{{{{sigh}}}}}}}}
